Toshiba laptop I have a Toshiba laptop and it takes forever for the internet page to load up(and also slow to load from page to page). Most of the time the ''not responsing'' phrase will come up for a bit then disappear. The only thing I've tried is cleaning out the computer of viruses. HELP!!

Try to reset the internet explorer.

Windows ker + r
you will get the run window
type inetcpl.cpl

you will get internet options
go to advance on the right side

at the bottom you will find reset click on that
and that should help to reset your internet explorer.

Toshiba Satelite A150-S4184,Hasent been used much,It was verry fast, now have internet again and loads very slow and takes long time to load pages,I think auto downloads instales windows 7,What can I

How much memory do you have in your Toshiba Satelite laptop?
Windows XP with Service Pack 3 needs a minimum of 1GB but ideally would run better with 2GB.

Windows 7 would need the same but there is no auto-update process to go from XP to 7 as this is not allowed - you would have to do a Custom install of Windows 7 which requires a clean install (i.e. format the hard drive and start from scratch).

If you are running XP with less than 1GB memory, then you need to check what the maximum memory that the laptop can be upgraded to?

The easiest method is to use the Crucial Memory web site System Scanner utility which will detect how much memory is installed and advise how much you can upgrade to according to the options available for the specific make & model of laptop.

If the laptop hasn't been turned on or on-line for a long time then you may be using a lot of resources downloading Microsoft critical updates plus updates for other installed programs like iTunes, QuickTime, Java etc.

Try downloading and installing a copy of the free Advanced System Care 5 utility then running the Deep Care tools which include System Optimisation and clean-up utilities to improve system performance.

You have a slow computer. To speed up page loading you might want to add an ad blocker to your browser to speed things up since the ads take up memory resources and slow down your computer.

Toshiba laptop/satellite

Hi There,

With the viruses gone you need to do a little cleanup. I believe your browser is probably clogged with temporary files and that you registry needs tuning up. Here's the link for a wonderful little application that can do the job for you.

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Ccleaner is a quick install and does not conflict with any other programs. Install it, run the Cleaner first without changing ANY of the settings, then click on the Registry square on the left side menu and just run it and say yes to every prompt. Then reboot.

After reboot, one last thing;

Hold down the Windows Logo key on your keyboard and press the R key. A Run Command window will appear. Type in %TEMP% and hit the Enter key. Your Temp File folder will appear. Left click once inside the folder window then use the keyboard command ctrl+A. All the files will highlight at once. Hit the delete key and let Windows delete as many files as it can. If it says one is in use and can't be deleted, just let it stay.

You should notice a difference after following these steps.

Good Luck!

Daughter bought computer hates it cause it is slow loading up

Check if there are a bunch of virus and spyware blockers running. The ones that run all the time HOG the resources. Also a bunch of those programs that continually look for updates. You have enough memory and likely the machine is fast enough. Websites pile on a bunch of toolbars... all the crud just slows things down.
