1. Click on the menu button on the taskbar.

2. Click on the control panel icon

3. Now I need to know the way you use your Control Panel

4. If your control panel has a blue background. You are using Category view

5. If it has a white background ( This is the same as opening a folder on your computer ) then you are having classic view

Now. The change of language depends on your view ( Either classic or Category ( Explained above ))

Classic view

Classic view will make it much easier for you to change the language.

1. Once control panel is opened. You should find a folder named "Regional and language options"

2. Double click on this icon.

3. A window will pop-up

4. Then there you can change the language. ( to change it is the first thing on that window )

5. Default is English (UNITED STATES)

Category view

1. Fire up your control panel

2. Click on the icon " Date, time, language and Regional Options "

3. Then down under the category "or pick a control panel icon "

4. click on "Regional and language options "

5. A window will pop- up

5. Change the language ( To change the language it is the first things that appears on that screen

6. Default is english (UNITED STATES)

I have a Spanish computer with XP on. My problem is that this is obviously in Spanish and I want to change to English. Do I have to buy new software?

To change the default language on your computer, goto the control panel - Regional and Language Options. You will need to make changes on all three tabs- Regional Options, Languages & Advanced. Changing the defaults to English on each of these tabs will change most programs to the default language of the system settings. You will need to reboot your computer for these changes to take affect. Please be aware that the default language is changed for all users of the computer.
Some specialized programs that were installed may have to be reinstalled if all the languages were not installed by default, but overall you should not have any problems.

My probook 4510s is set up with US keyboard, how can I change it to UK setting?

hi

  • Right-click on the taskbar and click on "Toolbars."
  • Step 2 Click on "Language bar." If this option doesn't appear on the menu, you only have one language on your computer. Refer to the steps in Section 2 to add languages to your computer. If you have to add "English (United Kingdom)," you may have to restart your computer before you can change the keyboard layout.
  • Step 3 Click on "Input language."
  • Step 4 Select "English (United Kingdom)" from the list of languages.
  • Step 5 Click on "Keyboard layout" and select the "English (United Kingdom)" keyboard layout and apply the changes.
    Add Languages to Your Computer
  • Step 1 Click on the "Start" icon.
  • Step 2 Click on "Control Panel."
  • Step 3 Click on "Clock, Language, and Region."
  • Step 4 Click on "Regional and Language Options."
  • Step 5 Click on the "Keyboards and Languages" tab and click on "Change keyboards..."
  • Step 6 Click on "Add..." in the "Installed Services" section.
  • Step 7 Select "English (United Kingdom)" on the list and check each of the entries under "Keyboard" and "Other," and then click on "OK" to close the menu.
  • Step 8 Click on "Apply" and "OK" to add "English (United Kingdom)" to your computer.

I accidentally changed the language on my monitor how do i change it back to original settings

If you need to change the OSD language for the monitor, press Menu (the rest of the buttons will light). Then press Main Menu and select Advanced (it is the second from the bottom) Press Choose and then Select. The line to change the language, go to the second line (from the top), use the Adjust button to scroll through the available languages. Press Back to return to a previous menu; press Menu Off to exit.

If the language change was in the OS of the computer, it will depend on OS. In Windows, the Control Panel is the starting place. Then Clock, Language, and Region. The Region and Language area will have a keyboard language and display language (if multiple languages are installed) tabs in Win7. (The older versions of Windows are similar.)

    I hope this helps.
