Question about JVC Audio Players & Recorders
I searched jvc.com for your model CA-C77BK S/N and couldn't find it even in the archives.
It must be a discontinued unit.
Usually when this happens you have to take the unit apart to retrieve the cd.
I don't think it's worth fixing, as parts don't seem to be available or listed, not even the user's manual online at jvc.com.
However, I did find a link for the service manual for this vintage compact component system:
May I refer you to that manual to try to figure out how to fix this problem.
Unfortunately, it costs $33 for the manual. You'll have to decide if it is worth it to buy it.
Good luck to you in fixing this problem.

It sounds loading belt that drives disc tray got cut/ broken so motor hums for few seconds and then stops but disc tray mechanism wont get motor power to unload/ load the tray.
Unit will take apart to replace that loading belt and local tv repair shop will help you to get it fixed.
