It doesn't work at all If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these: Power from the house Door switch Wiring Timer or selector switch Power from the house Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker. Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it. When closing door of our dishwasher the main house fuse blows out.

Sounds like a shorted door switch. You may be confusing the door latch with the electrical door switch. The latch is the handle lever that you move to lock the door. The electrical switches you normally can't see without taking the door apart or in some cases they are mounted to the center top of the tub under the counter. As the door latches--the switches should close to run the dishwasher. It sounds like in your case it is defective and shorting to ground.

Why won't my dishwasher register that the door is closed?

Hi your probably got a crook or faulty micro switch which is linked in series with the control circuit that registers the programme to wash. In simplified terms the switch is stuck in an open circuit configuration and won't allow the wash programme to commence as a safe guard against water splash when the door is open.
check for correct door alignment and listen carefully when you close the dishwasher door to hear if the micro switch clicks. If it does not suggestbyoungetbit looked at by a professional because the time involved to pull it all apart just is not worth it because it could be more than just a micro switch. That's just a primary fault that can occur. If you monitor what the dishwasher does when you first switch it on, many models indicate the fault condition from the control panel which you can search readily from the net. Best of luck with it but if in doubt get it looked at professionally. Cheers

I have a Bosch SHU9955US/14 (Integra) dishwasher. There is currently a 0 with and asterisk showing on the display and the unit will not run.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Thermal Fuse If the dishwasher won't start the thermal fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown, the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work.

Door Switch The door switch, or switches, are sometimes called interlock switches. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the dishwasher won't start, the switch or switches might be defective. To access the door switches, remove the control panel or inside door panel - depending on the model. They can be tested for continuity.

Main Control Board The main control board provides power to nearly every component of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher won't start the main control board might be defective. YOU should first check for more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily because the problem was not diagnosed properly.

Touchpad and Control Panel If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced. On some models the touchpad and control panel are sold together and will need to be replaced at the same time.

Touchpad If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced.

Timer The timer allows power to flow to the proper parts at the proper times. If the dishwasher won't start, the timer might be defective. Keep in mind that timers are often misdiagnosed as the cause of a problem. Check other components first before replacing the timer.

It says CL washing and obviously isnt working

Hi

Error CL appears when the dishwasher control detects door switch is open or door is open. You'll have to open the door and check the continuity of the door switch. If the door seems to be closed then it is the control has detected an issue with the door latch. Check the door latch & seals to make sure door is closing fine. Unplug the dishwasher from power outlet and wait for 10-15 minutes. Restart the dishwasher and check if the error is still there. If error still appears then you'll need to repalce the door switch/door latch. Hope this helps... Please post back for further assistance.

Dishwasher will not run. I have checked the circuit breaker and it seems fine. does the dishwasher have a reset button?

Hello there:
My dishwasher will not work at all. Investigate these four areas if your dishwasher is not working at all:

Power Supply

Your dishwasher may not be receiving any power. It is somewhat difficult to check for power at the plug outlet because the plug for a dishwasher is usually behind the unit. You should make sure all the circuit breakers of your circuit breaker panel are in the correct positions, or check to make sure no fuses of your house fuse panel are blown.

Door Switch

A properly functioning door switch will shut your dishwasher off when the door is opened. A defective door switch may not allow your dishwasher to operate at all. Examine the door switch and test it. If it is inoperable, it will have to be replaced.

Cycle Selector Switch

It isn't very common, but it is still possible that your dishwasher's cycle selector switch has become defective. Test the switch to determine if it is the cause of your problem. Replace it with a new one if it is.

Timer Motor

Your dishwasher timer will not function if its motor is defective. And if your timer is not functioning properly, then the dishwasher itself will not function properly. Test your dishwasher's timer motor, and if it is broken, you can replace either the entire timer assembly or just the timer motor.

Dishwasher is not working. No power. I checked the electric box and everything is fine. Pulled dishwasher out, and it seems to be plugged in.

If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:

Power from the house
Door switch
Wiring
Timer or selector switch
Power from the house Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it.

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.

Timer or selector switch Although it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these can be repaired.

STOPS RUNNING IN MID-CYCLE

Try placing something like a chair with books or heavy objects on it in front of the door. Tip it with objects under the front legs and place objects on its seat until the pressure closes the door and the dishwasher starts. Put additional objects on the seat to insure vibration doesn't make the door pop open. If the cycle completes, the problem is probably the door switch. If not, the problem may be with the timer switch. If it's the timer switch the dishwasher will probably stop at the same position each time.
