Any universal remote capable of controlling a stereo should be able to control the volume, power, and muting. Beyond that my experience is that hitting random buttons will sometimes get other functions, eg. the "2-/12" button on my universal remote changes it to CD mode :/ You just need to find the codes for Kenwood in the instructions or online, and try all of them.
Sorry I'm a few years late, but I hope this will help anyone else with this problem.

Kenwood KA 995 amp. volume control, as you increase or decrease the sound, a loud clicking sound is heard.

Katrina, this sounds like a dirty potentiometer (volume control knob). Try turning the unit off, and exercising the knob. That means turn it full turns, many times, like 70 times. Then try it again with power. Sometimes this helps.

I have a Kenwood KA 893. I have no control over the volume. The dial is spotty. Sometimes I can turn the volume up but it usually does what it wants. I do not have the remote.

Sounds to be dirty. There is a thing called tuner cleaner you can use to clean it. You will need to remove the control knob and try spraying into the control, but you may have to get inside to clean it up good by breaking down the unit.

How do i get a free service manual download of a kenwood ka-127 model stereo integrated amplifier in any digital format?

I doubt you will be able to find a digital copy, and Kenwood dropped their home audio line 2+ decades ago. I probably have a hard copy of the manual, as I was a Kenwood Factory Service Center for over 25 years, however, it is not free. How to connect a kenwood ka- 9100 to a pioneer vsx-d608

You don't say, what role the Kenwood is supposed to play but I'll assume you want to slave the Kenwood (and its speakers) to the Pioneer.

The VSX-D608 doesn't have multi-channel pre-outs so you wouldn't have local control of the volume at the Pioneer.

The KA could be a subwoofer amp as the Pioneer has a pre-out for that.

Outs to Ins. "Power In" on the KA would be for an external volume-controlled source. Otherwise, use one of its non-Phono inputs.

Describe your kenwood manual "ka

Hi, Yes it is safe to leave this connection unhooked. The system control is what the stereo uses to remote control a cassette deck,cd,turntable etc... using the amplifier separately should be o.k. I hope this helps, good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa-Prodzilla

My system has a ka-127 amplifier and i can only

lets go for the simple things first. Make sure that the unit is not in tape monitor mode. If it is in tape monitor, you are hearing the small amount of crosstalk present in any system.

Kenwood KA-127 P-off response

This unit is likely to be in "protect" mode. This means that a problem has been detected it the final stage of the amplifier section and the speakers are disabled to prevent damage to either the speakers of the amp. This can be casued by a poor solder connection or defective components inside the amp. Without taking internal measurements, I can not say for sure. Expect a parts cost in the $25-$40 range for this repair. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair cost.

Amplifier will only put out "faint" music, etc, even when the volume is turned all the way up

This may sound silly, but please check to be sure that the tape monitor switch in not engaged. Update this if that is not the problem.
