Question about Boating
I have a 1987 30 HP Evinrude which was running fine until she just stalled when I was at about 3/4 full throttle. I noticed a bit of water dripping from the upper case where the motor is located and saw about a 1/4 inch of water inside. Everything looked dry except the bottom part. I am not sure if that was because the motor stopped so suddenly...this is what happened. I could not get it going again. I checked the spark plugs, the carb, and fuel pump/filter. It is getting gas and compression from what I can tell. I let it dry out all day in the sun, just in case water got inside somewhere. When I pull the starter cord, it doesn't seem to spark or do anything like normal.
My question is..could it be or is it likely the power pack? Remember it was running when this happened, she just won't turn over at all. I am trying to keep my costs down.
Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer!
Hi,it might be?.power packs are not friendly with water.
You can troubleshoot the plugs, might also be the coil that is sucked too.
Do a general troubleshooting for the engine.
