Question about Golden Technologies Health & Beauty
Light works, horn works, can hear relay click but no power to the motor. Steady green light. Is it the circuit board or ??
The above is a parts list for various scooters made by Golden Technologies, and a lot of circuit boards are listed for other models such as the Eagle Standard, for instance.
The above shows information for the companion series of scooter, which you have.
Finally, if you have a relay click and no power to the motor, then I think it might be a relay that is internally having a burnt contact problem.
Also, check the charge on the battery, although, I think that if the circuit board has enough voltage for the circuit board to 'click' the relay, that it's likely this is not the problem, unless the battery is old or the charger is not charging up the battery fully.
Here is a detailed list of possible codes that the circuit board can display through self diagnosis.
The above tells me the flashing light codes, You'll need to download Acrobat Reader from Adobe.com (it's a free download), if you don't have that program on your computer system to view the .pdf file for this scooter.
FIGURE 45. MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER RESET
Possible causes for the main circuit breaker to trip:
• Low tire pressure can cause the motor to overload and trip the main circuit breaker.
(see “ Wheels and Tires” in this section of this manual and see section X. “Diagnostics”)
• Run-down batteries.
As you operate your Companion, battery voltages go down and battery current must
rise to satisfy the demands of the motor and of other electrical devices operating on your
scooter. This can cause a heavy current draw that will trip the main circuit breaker.
• Recharge your Companion’s batteries. See “Charger and Batteries” in this section of
• If the problem continues, have your authorized Golden Technologies, Inc. dealer load
test the batteries.
• If the batteries are good, the charger may be the problem. Consult your authorized
Golden Technologies, Inc. dealer.
Resetting the Main Circuit Breaker
If the main circuit breaker trips as a result of run-down batteries or because of a temporary
overload, reset the circuit breaker:
1. Wait a minute or so for the motor control board to return to the normal operating
2. Make certain that the key switch is set to the “Off” position.
3. Press in on the main circuit breaker reset button. See figure 45.
NOTE: If the main circuit breaker continues to trip, there is probably an underlying
electrical fault that needs attention.
Good luck on fixing this problem and contact me if you need anything else!

Hi, if the starter motor will turn over when you jump a wire to the brown
wire on the starter solenoid then you know that the starter motor is fine. Similarly if the starter relay clicks then you know that the
ignition switch and the park/neutral safety switch is OK. So that
leaves the relay's internal contacts not conducting due to oxidation or the
brown wire from the in-board most pin of the relay socket (30) to the starter motor solenoid is 'open'. Try jumping from the battery to that
in-board pin and if the starter motor fires up then the relay's
internal contacts have to be bad. Try swapping that relay with another one to
verify that is the case. If the jump to the relay pin doesn't cause the motor to energize, then the wire is open.
If your starter relay clicks, then the ignition switch for that part of the circuit is OK.
