Mcdevito75 here, You"ll have to carefully check all your monitor connections, at the monitor and computer. After checked you can try the auto button on your monitor, if this doesn"t hepl, most likely you"ll need to replace your monitor. Check with a Radio Shack, Staples Etc. for their advise also.

My monitor is flickering

Flickering on the screen can be caused by defective hardware in the computer or by improperly installed software monitor may flicker and goes into rolling state due to dust, overheating after a long continuous usage, loose circuitry or due to some electromagnetic interference with other like tv , UPS, large speaker systems etc.

1.Try Re-installing your Video driver

2 If it is possible, connect a different monitor to the computer. If the flickering disappears, it is a fair indication that the monitor is defective, otherwise go to the next step.

3. Set up the computer and the monitor on a different place in your house. If the flickering disappears now, it is most likely an interference caused by something in the original location. Check for devices which can cause interference.

4. If the flickering persists, check the setup of your system. If available in the setup, make sure that the option Monitor Type is configured as Colour Non-Interlaced.

If you don't think any above possible reasons for the rolling or flickering state of your monitor then we recommend you to get your monitor checked by the monitor company at their respective service cente

I need a replacement power cord for a gateway monitor model # FPD1810. Where do you get one?

Hi, I found this for you on eBay...always check your seller's 'feedback rating'...this one was good, but if it's more than $20, I like to try for 100%...even if that's virtually impossible. Hope this helps! mike

Gateway 1810 LCD monitor

Same problem with the Gateway FPD 1810 monitor here! Same solution after going through the MADNESS of the drivers...a light tap on the very top and centre of it, and the problem went away! When I was a kid, our family television (remember when your home had ONE television?) would do this, and when it did, my dear old Dad would STOMP ON THE FLOOR, and the picture would then suddenly stop flickering! He was a big believer in this! I hope that he is looking down from heaven and getting a laugh from this. He was a Chiropractor, and he referred to this manouvre as treating the TV for a "subluxation", which is what Chiropractors mean whenh they "adjust" your neck! Solution for the 20th century model DuMont Television? Whack it! Solution for the 21st Century LCD Gateway monitor? Whack it! Everything old is new again. Perhaps I should procure a can of TV tuner spray, you never know what is going to break next! Rest in Peace, Dad. Gunsmoke is still on the air HERE, but I'll bet YOU are watching Jackie Gleason up THERE ! ;-)

Monator has no signal

Plugging into the laptop as an alternative monitor needs you to set the Laptop to divert the signal to the external monitor.
As you did not mention the laptop I cannot go further  except to suggest you read the manual with regard this situation.
On some models of laptop this function is actuated  by pressing a certain key- which may have for example a BLUE symbol on  in the front edge whilst pressing another key in the region of the space bar with a blue symbol on it.
Then manual will tell all
