Power supplies are not User repairable.
I do open my PSU's up to clean the fans out, but it is not recomended due to the charge that can still be stored in the capacitors.
There is a fuse inside the case, but thats about all you could change.
Time to bite the bullet and buy a replacement. Go with a named brand if you can, cheap £10 psu,s are not worth it, they do not provide the power they are rated for

most power supplies have a switch for 120 and or 220 options just move the switch to what setting you want. most power supplies can be used as a stand a lone power supply, if not than you need to request for a 220 watt power supply the can be used as a stand alone for pc or computer use. most computer retail should have them in stock. look on line or at

I have dell gx 260 with 2.4 ghz nd 1gb ddr ram with nvidia geforce fx 5200 can u name any graphics card which will be gud enough than geforce 5200...nd agp plz..

You need an AGP 8X graphics card for one.

AMD ATI Radeon series:

1) Better: XFX Radeon HD4650

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4914257&CatId=2234

A) 1GB (OR 1024MB) of DDR2 graphics ram memory
B) 128-bit bandwidth memory interface
C) 320 Stream Processors
D) 600MHz Core Clock
E) 800MHz Memory Clock
F) 55nm process technology

3) Best: HIS HD4670

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6076197&CatId=2234

A) 1GB (Or 1024MB) of DDR3 graphics ram memory
B) 128-bit bandwidth memory interface
C) 320 Stream Processors
D) 750MHz Core Clock
E) 1600MHz Memory Clock

Likes POWER! Better install a 500 Watt power supply, to keep up with the power needed for this baby!
The GX260 supposedly has a 250 Watt PSU. (Power Supply Unit)
Back in the day this PSU was made, the PSU manufacturer 'fudged' the maximum rated wattage.
Actual is more like 60 percent of what is stated.
175 watts!

The above is just IMHO about graphics card choice.

(I have motherboard's with a PCI Express x16 slot, using the PCI-E 2.0 technology.
I use Nvidia graphics cards)

My dell gx270 power supply has been burnt how can i repair it

If the power supply has been burnt, individual electronic components likely failed due to a power surge or other issue, and you may have experienced a short within the unit. Unfortunately, due to advanced difficulty and low cost, power supplies generally are not repaired, they are replaced instead.

Dell (HP-L161NF3P) (P0813) 160-Watt Power Supply ,how i can repaire it

the news on this one is bad unless your an electrical enginer. you can buy a refurbed PSU for about 35 quid. alternatly you could plug a standard power suply into the PC as all the plugs are standard fittings the trouble with that is you would not be able to put the case back together afterwards

My new power supply for my dell

As long as the wiring is correct the first guy is probably right...better to have excess power than not enough. The PC will only draw the amount of power it actually needs.....not the full 750watts all the time.

A PS-5022-2DF Power Supply

When a power supply goes bad they are generally not worth repairing given the low replacement costs these days.
I have bought a lot of replacement Dell power supplies from this place over the years.

Remember a lot of Dell power supplies and motherboards are proprietary so you cannot use generic parts.
