Keep getting prompts to that an update is available for Java.exe Anyone know what it is and is the update a safe thing to do?

Windows XP

To start System Restore using the Command prompt, follow these steps:

1. Restart your computer, and then press and hold F8 during the initial startup to start your computer in safe mode with a Command prompt.
2. Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode with a Command prompt option.
3. If you are prompted to select an operating system, use the arrow keys to select the appropriate operating system for your computer, and then press ENTER.
4. Log on as an administrator or with an account that has administrator credentials.
5. At the command prompt, type %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then press ENTER.
6. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to restore your computer to a functional state.
   
   
   Windows 7:
   

   1. Start your computer in safe mode with command prompt. For more information, see Start your computer in safe mode.
      

   2. At the command prompt, type rstrui.exe, and then press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
      

The jucheck.exe is the Java update verification process. This process will check on the internet for available updates for the Java software installed on your computer. If updates are available, it will notify you and/or manage the download and install of the updates. You should leave this process running in order to keep your Java up to date.

When there is a notification for new update, a tooltip ballon appears.



To install new update click the notification window.

Note: If you are on Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems, then you will see User Access Control (UAC) consent prompt.
The consent prompt is seen when a user attempts to perform a task that requires a user administrative access.



Click Continue button to install new Java update.

• You can use tk file explorer to update the contents in the game folder.......just connect s5233 to PC. First time you should be prompted with a 'device installed and ready' message.
• Execute TkFileExplorer_2.2.exe
• Go to Settings - COM.
• Scroll down Port window: You should get just one COMxx option. Choose it and press OK.
• Go to File - Connect. You should get the F480 File System Tree at TkFileExplorer bottom half side.
• Go to /Exe/Java/Games
• Create a New Folder for your game
• At TkFileExplorer PC upper side select game JAD/JAR files and copy to s5233 created folder using drag&drop or right button menu Download option.
• Repeat steps 9 & 10 for all games you want to install at a time.
• Disconnect USB cable
• Dial *#6984125*#
• Go to Internals (Master Key: *#9072641*#)
• Go to Storage Settings and select Update Java DB

You must have your satnav registered with garmin to get the updates. If it's not registered connect it to your computer and go to www.garmin.com. Select your country from the drop-down list. Click on "Register your garmin device" and follow the prompts. You'll be asked to create a username and password. Keep them safe as you'll need them again when you want to update your maps.

To get the updates go to www.garmin.com and log into myGarmin. Click on myMaps. The maps on your satnav will be shown there. Beside the map name there will be a message stating either "No update available" or "Get Update" If it says Get Update connect your satnav to the computer, click on the message and follow the prompts.

If a new map comes out within 60 days of the first time your satnav accesses satellites garmin give it to you free. To get your update you must register your satnav with garmin. To register:
Connect your satnav to your computer and go to www.garmin.com
Select your country from the drop-down list. Click on "myGarmin" and then on "Register your garmin product" Follow the prompts. You'll be asked to create a username and password. Keep them safe as you'll need them anytime you want to update maps.
To check if there's an update available log into myGarmin and click on myMaps.
Your map will be shown there and if there's an update available it will be shown beside it. To get the map click on Get Update and follow the prompts.

make sure the %ProgramFiles%\Java\jre6\ and %APPDATA%\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_10\ directories are empty. and than try to reinstall it.

Step 4: Update your Java Virtual Machine
You can download the latest version of Java from http://www.java.com. Before downloading and installing a new version, please make sure you uninstall the current version by clicking on Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs. Once the Add/Remove Programs screen comes up, look for the Sun Java entries and uninstall them. Then you can install the latest version from the java.com web site. You should also remove the Microsoft Java Machine by following this method:

Are you sure it doesn't say Frontpg.exe? I'm not familiar with Frontog.exe, but Frontpg.exe is the primary executable for Microsoft Frontpage.

If it is Frontpg.exe, the first thing I would suggest is to make sure you have any security updates available for your version of Frontpage. I believe you can update that at http://microsoft.update.com as part of Windows Update.

I haven't been able to find any knowledge base articles on this particular error. See if you have all the most recent patches - if not, download the newest ones and see if that helps. If it doesn't help, let me know and I'll try to dig deeper.
