How do you reset the htc tilt

You might need to soft or hard reset your HTC Tilt smartphone if you have issues with it freezing or locking up. Here's how.

Soft Reset

Simply use the stylus to press the small Reset button on the bottom of the unit.

Hard Reset

A hard reset erases all data off of the HTC Tilt.

1. Press and hold the left and right softkeys at the same time.

2. While continuing to hold both buttons, use the stylus to press the Reset button at the bottom of your device.

3. Release the Reset button and continue to hold down the 2 softkeys until you see a message about deleting all data from the device.

4. Press the Phone button to complete the hard reset.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

Thanks, Joe

I think it is not a battery problem (at least, not anymore). Your phone seems to be stuck in the boot screen. I suppose you'll have to hard reset it, to get rid of such a condition. You, most probably, know that a hard reset will set your device to its factory defaults, thus deleting all programs you have installed, as well as your personal data.
To perform a hard reset, press and hold both softkeys, and whilst keeping them pressed, briefly press the reset pin (at the bottom of your device) with the stylus pen. Release the softkeys only when you see a request for confirmation on the screen. Slide the hardware keyboard and press 'R'.
Hope it works for you.
Cheers! Carlos

It must have been something you have installed.I'm afraid you'll have to hard reset your device to get rid of such a condition, now. Be warned that you'll loose every program you have installed, as well as your personal data stored there. Anyway, I can't see any other way to bypass your present condition. To hard reset your device, press and hold, for a couple of seconds, both softkeys (the ones marked '-', at the left side of the Windows key and the right of the OK button), and, whilst keeping them pressed, briefly press the reset pin with the stylus pen. Keep holding the softkeys until you are prompted to confirm the hard reset procedure. Release the keys, slide the hardware keyboard out, and press 'Y' to confirm it.
Hope you are able to have your device fully functional again.
Cheers! Carlos

My touch screen froze, so I did a soft reset. This didn't work. So I did a hard reset. All seemed to be going to plan until the 'Align screen' appears. I align the screen as instructed but instead of going...

Whenever you do the alignment touch the spot on the screen with the stylus and hold the stylus on the mark until it moves to the next corner.... this may work
