If you connect the computer to the router , it works.
That means the wired connection is OK.
Open the set up page of the router check the wireless settings of the router.
I think your network is secured and you are not typing the correct network key.
just open the router set up and check the wireless settings .

When i connect my router to my modem i get limited connection could my router be gone out i have to connect direct to lap to get internet service

If Windows is saying "limited conectivity" on the network Icon in your takbar then it seems, the DHCP server function on your router is disabled. If that is the case, then I would perform a factory reset on your router then reconfigure it. If that is not the case, some ISPs require that your PCs mac address match your routers mac address. There should be an option in your routers configuration page to "Clone Your Mac address" or something similar depending on what model of router you have. If all else fails, fully reboot your modem, then your router, then your PC, in that order.

Can not conect a second px keeps say limited or no conectivaty

I hope you are trying to connect two PC using LAN. For that you will need the following

1) One Cat5/Cat6 Ethernet cable with Cross connected RJ-45 connectors at both end,
2 You need to assign IP adresses to both of your PCs.
You can use the following two IP addresses for your two PC
192.168.1.1
192.168.1.2

You can assign IP address by Control Panel -> Network Connection -> Right Click on Local Area Connection, -> Select Properties -> Select Internet Protocol and Click Properties -> Select Use the following IP address. Then type the IP address mentioned above. Press Tab when you are done. The Subnet mask will be automatically filled.

Note that you have to use two different IPs for two PCs.

Connection

try to do a power cycle. turn off everything. then turn on the modem first the the router (if you're using one) then the computers.
check if the cables are properly connected, try to use another cable for hardwired computers. for wireless computers, make sure that it's connecting to the correct wireless network and you are using the correct wireless password (wpa/wep)
if you want to check your wireless settings, just log in to your router's page by typing http://192.168.0.1 on the address bar of your web browser. by default the username is admin and there's no password. you will be prompted by the router's page, go to the wireless section and check the router settings are the same with what the wireless computers are using

hope this'll help you but if you still have a problem, just give me your network setup (i.e. brand of the modem, router, number of computers and if PCs are hardwired or wireless)

cioa!

Limited connectivity

Hi Duneider!
It's normal that your computers will not connect after you enable a wireless security (WEP/WPA). You are getting a limited or no connectivity message because the wireless computers are not connected to the network using the network key or the password that you have used to setup WEP or WPA. There is no need in hard conding the IP address, all you need to do is reconnect to the wireless network using the WEP or WPA Key. If you will type the correct WEP or WPA Key, it will connect and automatically get the IP address again from your router.
