Question about Roper RAS8445KQ Top Load Washer
It will wash but not spin in any cycle
You could have several problems, but the most common would be the lid switch. Check the lid switch by opening the lid and using a screw driver press the switch in and out. you should hear a clicking sound. if you don't hear this clicking sound your switch is bad. replace it.
(you can also check the switch with an ohm meter but you have to remove the back splash and disconnect the switch from its connector.)
If you must replace the switch there are 2 clips underneath the backsplash that hold the cabinet in place to the back of the machine. You will have to remove these clips and pull the cabinet off to get to the switch.

If it spins the balance is okay. Check out your filter now. And then the pump (after the spigot prob below)
Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
Rate me pl.....if helped.

It's possible that the high speed windings on the motor no longer work, or it could be the clutch.
If the motor is spinning very fast, but the tub is not spinning, then the clutch is broken. If the motor is not spinning fast, then it probably needs a new motor.

After taking apart my machine I discovered a broken part called the Motor Coupling. This part is what makes the basket turn from the motor. I had to completey take apart the machine. The part is located between the motor and the transmission. This machine is not belt driven. It is called a direct drive. good luck

its a separate cycle all by itself.
Say U hand wash something in a sink and instead of wringing it out by hand U can put it in the washer and press this SPIN cycle.
So U can also use it to spin more water out of your garments after the regular wash and spin cycle.
Slower spin speeds mean -
