Most likely to be blown head gasket but could also be a hole in the piston or piston rings if the car is blowing blue smoke

What is a misfire in cylinder #1

Loss of compression means either piston or valve issues. You wouldn't know without a compression test with a gauge.
Misfire could be spark plug, coil or electrical issues.

You put compressed air into the cylinder an listen for the air escaping , if coming out of the throttle plate ,burnt intake valve . If you hear air coming out of exhaust pipe , burnt exhaust valve . If you hear air coming out dip stick tube bad rings or piston damage. How To Perform Leak Down Test EricTheCarGuy

I have a major loss of compression. could it be the catalytic converter or sensor. Need help please

No, the catalytic converter is the first part of the exhaust system and burns hydrocarbons to improve emissions. It has nothing to do with engine compression.

Loss of compression is inside the engine cylinders and can be caused by loose spark plugs, worn piston rings, pistons with holes in them, or incorrectly adjusted, worn or burnt valves or valve stems.

Running well but loss of compression after starting sometimes then last week driving along fine lost all compression have pulled fuel tank out checked fuel pump and it runs fine from a battery

Loss of compression is something else. What you are describing is a fuel pump issue and it sounds like a relay. Since you did not post what the year make and model is, we have no way of knowing UNLESS it is a jeep.

Vios 2004 1.3e manula something happen to the engine i'm not sure is it the igniton coil or the gasoline filter (loss compression) 65000km.....

IF there is a compression loss then have a compression test done to determine if so and which piston . If it is just a miss then isolate each coil until you find the faulty one . If you feel that it is fuel have a fuel pressure test done to determine where the fault is.

Overheated and loss compression.

The most common cause is a blown head gasket and sometimes a warped head. Someone would need to remove the cylinder head and have it checked for damage, then replace the head gasket.

Loss of compression why

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

A worn out piston ring is a general cause of loss compression. Have it replaced and you'll be good.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

02 bmw 3 series. One in ten times when you try to start car thier is no compression

hav u used a compression tester on the vehicle-must read values to confirm--it may be other things that appear to be the problem-if there is a low reading then rings/valves/oilpress or heads are of concern
