Are you sure the model of the drill is 691220? That would appear to be the model of the charger base. I know of no recall on the switches but I need the correct model # to be sure. There was a recall on the charger base for certain drills.

I have the same drill, whick I loved. Model of the drill is 691220. It was working great and right in the middle of putting in a screwwed it just quit. It is possible that it is also the switch. I would love to fix it instead of buying a new drill. Please help. Everything else works, the light comes on the batteries are good. Twice when I pulled the switch it worked for about 10 second and quit again. s

frist of all .there is no recall by Kawasaki on this unit!!!!!!!!!, if anyone tells you that there wrong. There are two units soled, one is green and black. this unit is for small home uses only, and its not for sheet rocking and or deck building. The other unit made, is a Little tougher. but steel for home use only, that one, is the black unit and sliver. the problem is over use of the unit, and using it, for what it was not designed for. The company that makes this unit is coming out with A higher amp switch. The company is (All trade) please use the unit for what it was designed for. Now to clare fy I'm A kawasaki engine and power service center, along with over 82 Manufacture and hundreds of products. this unit is not warranted by kawasaki bit by ALL Trade. thank you, good luck

Kawasaki 19.2 cordless drill

I will go one further, they had a recall of their batteries which could have led to your problem back in 2007 and the chargers on some of them also. I would again call the number and give them the date codes from both and then try again at getting it replaced. Their are a lot of posts online for this to be a simple occurence, The battery could have shorted internally causing the switch to melt and there would be a potential for user injury also. Let me know if you find anything out and if you have there web address I would be interested.

Hi Tim, Sounds like you got it figured out! The only question I see is if there is a quick fix, and it looks like you answered your own question. You can certainly pursue requesting that it be fixed as a manufacturing defect/ faulty part, or even a safety hazard as that is your right. While I can not suggest you take that route, the old metaphor of the sparking trigger that melted in my hand always seemed to get a lot of attention. Good Luck to you, hope this Fixsya!

Re: Burned trigger switch: call the number on the drill (800.590.3723) and tell them what happened. They will offer to send you a new switch or have you send the drill in for replacement of the switch--although the person I talked with said they would probably just replace the whole drill.
