Question about Heating & Cooling

Fan does not start in either manual or auto mode. Can tap on side of AdobeAir P225101A control module and the unit will start up just fine. Climbing on the roof every time I want to run the cooler just is not going to work. Need to find a schematic or wiring diagram for the P225101 made by AdobeAir / Mastercool.

Mastercool model CHC631B. Control module by AdobeAir part number P225101A. Unit will not start fan on its own (either high or low speed). Tapping lightly on the control module (in the unit on the roof) gets it going. Checked all electrical connections - they are good. Pumps run fine. Fan motor is on the other side of the unit, so I am certain the problem is in the control module. I can see relays on the internal circuit board. Just need to find a schematic or wiring diagram on the control module.

Please post the model number of the cooler itself, vs the model number of the control assembly. You may find a name tag on your next trip to the roof.

Does the fan have the same "no-start" issues on all speeds, or is it just limited to a single speed where the issue resides? When the fan isn't able to start, is the pump running?

So far, it sounds like the common / neutral connection is loose, possible loose connection on fan start winding (if used) if the fan draws current but isn't turning until you tap on it.

Please post a model # of your cooler, and any other details (see above) that you are able to provide.

Mastercool Model CHC631B. Control module part number P225101A. Fan does not start on either high or low speed. Checked and tightened all power connections. Pump does run fine. As I said, tapping on the control module will cause the unit to start running. I can see relays on the control module board. The motor is on the other side of the unit, so I am certain that tapping on the control unit is not affecting any of the motor connections. Really need a schematic on the control module.

How to stop the fan of rth6300 thermostat

If your fan will not stop, it could be caused by several things. It could be the contacts inside of the thermostat sticking. It could be caused by the fan mode switch in on versus auto. It could be a sticking contact on the fan control card in air handler or a stuck contact in the fan control head if it is a X13 or ECM motor.
First, easiest way to see if stuck contact on the thermostat, gently tap the thermostat, this sometimes adgitates the contact and allows it to open. If this works you need a new thermostat.
Next problem is checked on the themostat fan mode switch, it should be in auto. I have had several customers who inadvertantly pressed the fan mode switch and did not know they had done it.
If the fan is still running, the problem is in the air handler fan control card. There is high voltage in and near the fan control card and I would recommend getting a professional to check it out. The voltages in most thermostat is about 24 volts and even though it can tingle you it is not generally harmful. The high voltage you get into the air handler can either be 240 volts and in commercial unit it can be 440 volts.
Hope this helps.

Fan wont run on auto

Make sure your tstat is programmed for electric, not gas. Or in the settings you want that the TSTAT CONTROLS THE FAN.

This is a Unico AIR HANDLER in a residential application with heat / cool unit in the attic. With system off (not calling for cool) and fan in auto mode, the blower fan is on high speed only constantly....

Sounds like a sticking relay. You can check the stat simply by remove the faceplate. If fan still runs with tstat cover off its not the stat. Not sure is your blower has a separate relay or if relay is mounted on control board. This can be bypassed with a new relay if you are willing. Good luck!!

Penguin model 610012-001a/c compressor won't start

I would check to make sure that the control is sending the "cool" signal to the control unit. LO on the room temp display usually means that the fan speed is set to low. Is LO and Auto showing on the display at the same time. Try resetting the thermostat first. Hold down the Mode and Zone buttons with the tstat off. While holding them down, turn the tstat back on and hold the buttons down until FF appears on the screen. Release the buttons and try the AC.
If this does not work, on the control board is a freeze control switch plug (blue usually). Try unplugging this unit and insert a small jumper wire. If the Compressor comes on and runs then you have a bad freeze control switch. If not, then you should replace the control board.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

Air coming out of an adobeair portable evap cooler isnt cold

paula298,
A new unit will take a while for the pad to become wet and more efficient. Remember, there may be two switches: fan and water pump. The unit must be full of water and the pump ON to work correctly.

If the unit has a water pump only setting, run the pump without the fan for about 20 minutes. That will get the pads nice and wet and you should get a good result. A rule of thumb in the desert is 20 to 25 degrees of cooling compared to the ambient air.

Don't use a cooler in closed area. The cooler will simply act like a room humidifier. Use in an open garage or porch for the best result.

I hope that helps.

Blower fan will not come on when set on Auto in heat mode.

the fan is controlled by a fan center or a stack switch. as burners light and heat up the spring sensor on the bulkhead above burners heats up and turns and a a point energizes the indoor fan if it gets to hot the burners go out on safty. sounds like a fan control is bad tap on them gently and they sometimes break loose but if not then have a pro replace fan control and test heat exchanger.
