There are several drum slides mounted on the front tub bearing (shroud). When these slides wear out the tub can drop down just enough to cause garments to get hung. If you catch it early enough you can just replace the slides. If not you may have to replace the front bearing as well.

You can tell by removing the top of the machine. There are normally 2 to 4 screws holding the top on. open the door and look up to the top and you will see the screws to remove and then take the top off and look at the front of the dryer where the tub rests on the top of the slides and bearings. you can look at it and tell if it is wore out. slides are 316 and front tub bearing is 313 on the illustration.

If you take front of dryer off, there is a half moon shaped piece of felt on top of door opening that most likely has worn and leaves a gap between drum and where that felt is. Replace that for right drum fit.

I am re-stringing my Fender 140sce and every time I begin to tune a new string up, the peg pops up. Do I keep pressure on it to try and keep it in place until it is fully in tune, or is this out of the...

It is a little tricky, but you have to kind of pre-form the ball end of the string so it tucks under the ledge of the hole it goes into. Then put peg in and as you do pull up on the string slightly so the pre-formed ball end is caught under the ledge. Make sure the slot is toward the neck direction and the string seats in it, Also once the string is seated, kind of preform the string over the edge of the hole as the string is started to be tightened.

I have th lg dlgx3002w dryer. the garments get hung up in the lint filter and tears the garment. the edge of the filter is slightly melted. what causes this and how can i keep this from happening again?

I had the same problem. My LG dryer lint trap did the same thing and I ordered another one for replacement. The new lint trap is not rounded on the batton on the corner below where it got bent up and snagged your clothes. The new one is cut at a slight 45 degree angle. I believe that LG changed the design a little so clothes won't get hung up on that edge. Go to this site and you will see a picture of the replacement part.

Clothes caught between drum and top of front panel: Frigidaire

You have a bad tub seal. It is glues onto the front panel...looks like a thick felt pad. Common thing on Frigidaire dryers.

Underware gets in pump its likesomething missing

There should be a filter screen (usually white) before the pump assembly. It should be installed behind lower front panel.
Also you can buy a fabric net clothes bag for the washer to stop small thin fabric items from going into the filter assembly.

Check your inside seal between the door and the drum for tears. If it is torn it will need to be replaced.

Torn clothes

there should have been a plastic gaurd on the lint catcher inside to keep this from happening, at anytime when taking your clothes out did you find something you might have though how did that get in there> could have been it, or look under the dryer and see if it made it's way out past the drum to the floor

Clothes keep catching in front ring area

>>A repair man replaced the plastic ring but the gap is still there, ruining several items per load. Is it repairable or a fatal defect?<<

The repairman should check the drum rollers, the guides, and the baffles to be sure the dryer drum is rolling true (round). Also, the replaced ring should be re-checked to be sure it's installed correctly.

It seems that the "bucket' is out of alignment. it should be aligned straight and there is a protective seal around the bucket.if it is not aligned right, it will turn very slow or could even ruin your bushing or bearing at the back of the dryer.(besides catching on fire) Disconnect the dryer and remove the top and front. you will notice if the bucket is out of place. The reason it is probably not stopping is because the switch on the inside of the door is shorting and therefore ON all the has 2 wires that click on the switch when you close the dryer door.

My Washing machine stains clothes; they come out with brown rusty stains. Otherwise the washing machine works fine.

I've had this problem for many months now.  Even when it ruined my favorite tops & jeans, I couldn't get myself to let go of them... Good thing though because I have found a solution!  Make a paste using cream of tartar and hydrogen peroxide.  Generously spread the paste over the stains and let sit for about 5 minutes.  Boil enough water to fully immerse the stained garment in.  While waiting for the water to boil, figure out a way to wrap/roll the garment so that the paste doesn't come off when put into the water.  You want the paste to melt onto the stain while in the hot water.  After wrapping/rolling the garment, secure it with string or thread (anything that won't melt) that doesn't have color, just in case it bleeds.  After the water has come to a full boil, immerse the garment into the hot water and let it soak.  After about 15 minutes, remove the garment from the water.  The water should still be very hot, so I use cooking tongs to get it out.  Let the garment cool down to room temperature while still rolled up.  After it has fully cooled, unwrap the garment.  There should be very little or none of the paste left on the stain.  If there is still a great deal of paste, you may want to soak it again until the paste melts a bit more.  Once the paste is gone, rinse of the garment and it should be clean & stain free.  :o)
