I have a hunter douglas fan with an extension rod on my patio, When I turn it on it clicks on and the fans move every so slightly(for about a second) but do not turn. I had my porch power washed not too long ago and maybe something got wet? Any ideas? Thanks so much!!

Is this actually an original you are having issues with? You're aware these fans use oil right? Reply please.

Why is Hunter outdoor patio fan not moving enough air down ?

What model do you have? It's probably a low-end fan from Home Depot or Lowes. Next time check the CFM's, which are printed on the box. The higher the # ,the better. Don't get anything below a 5500 CFM. Remember, you get what you pay for! Don't buy by brand name.

Try changing the frequencies in the receiver & transmitter. If that doesn't work, you probably need a new receiver.

I have a ceiling fan (Hunter Douglas #9700 60" Grand Lodge that was purchased in Nov 07. Almost immediately, the highest fan speed did not work so we have been using it on the medium speed. It is now...

The noise you hear may be due to a loose screw(s) in one or more of the fan blade irons. The Irons are what holds the wooden blades and connects to the motor housing. It's usually the screws that attach iron to the motor housing, that work their way loose over time.If you have a light kit on the fan, check all the tension screws that hold the glass globes, shades, whatever you have to the light fixture(s).

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Where can I purchase a 3/4" downrod coupler for a

From your friendly neighborhood electrician - any electric supply (a business supplying parts to
the electrical & HVAC trade) will either carry Hunter parts, or at the very least be able to
order the parts - why: Hunter is manufactered in the USA. Nearly every other brand of ceiling
fan you'll find at your neighborhood Home Depot or Lowes is manufactured in China.
The typical ceiling fan will come with parts for two configurations: (1) flush, and (2) a optional
3-inch downrod, but commercial installations will somtimes use extended downrods.

The Hunter web site (http://www.hunterfan.com) catalog shows available downrods in several
lengths: 12", 18", 24", 36", 48", 60", and 72".

I found Hunter downrod specifics in the online "core products catalog," at:

I have a Hunter fan with remote. The fan or the light comes on by itself with no one around

See my post below: (Sorry, we're in the same boat)

Hunter ceiling fan with remote, have 5, 4 are seriously impaired! Lights dim to half strengh after variable time 10 seconds-30 minutes. And lights or fan turns on randomly (come home & fan on full blast), and one in which the lights won't dim (just blinks when try to dim)! Hunter "kinda" admits there is serious problem with remote but doesn't have a solution. Tells people to try changing to different code due to possible interference (pain in **** to change code on ceiling base!), was totally ineffective. Then replaced receiver in ceiling base (another total pain) in 3 fans with new ones sent Hunter, still totally useless. Hunter's suggestion, don't use the remote, just use the pull chain. If I had wanted a pull chain fan, I'd have bought a pull chain fan. TOTALLY USELESS! Moral of story: If you want a remote ceiling fan (my friend found out that all their remotes are made by the same company in Taiwan), don't buy Hunter!!!!! P.S. I found a "Kinda"- fix for the lights dimming to half strenth. After turning on the lights, wait 1 second, then dim lights slightly, they will then stay on the strength that you dim them to. - P.P.S. When I changed the receiver in the one where the lights won't dim, it "solved" that problem...Now it has the same problem as the others, lights or fan turn on randomly!

My hunter douglas fan has a remote which we use for everything. There are three settings on the remote when we push the one for high the fan is barely moving. It moves very very slow on all of the speeds....

I have the opposite problem.  My fan turns on during the night at high speed and sometimes turns on the light, too!  I've changed the frequency 3 times, but have to pay someone to do so, so I've given up and just unplug it at night.  My problem, so someone tells me might be that mine is not grounded.
