The remote for my Boze Wave radio suddenly stopped working. I replaced the battery and it still won't work. Must I purchase a new one? and if so where do I get it? Can this one be fixed?

I have assumed you are talking about Bose Wave Radio II.
It would help if you clarify what actions you cannot take with the remote controller. eg. what happens if you press the on/off key.

Have you tried cleaning the lens of the remote controller. Have you checked other options like battery is inserted correctly etc as mentioned on page 22 of the manual.

I believe you can pick up a new remote from Bose for about $10 depending on where you are located.

Hope this helps.

I took mine back to the Bose store and they gave me credit on my Wave that was about ten years old toward a new CD wave radio. I would recommend taking it to the Bose store and see what they can do for you.

The remote for my Bose Wave radio-CD no longer works. I have changed the battery and put a new battery into another Bose remote--no luck and I want to play my Christmas CDs! Help!

  • Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug it back in

  • Make sure you’re pointing the remote directly at your Wave® music system. If the system is placed above table-top height, be sure to angle the remote upward while pointing

  • Check for possible sources of interference with the remote’s infrared (IR) signal, such as bright lights or solar glare off of a window. Make sure nothing is blocking the path of the signal from the remote to the Wave® music system display. The remote will not work properly if there is something directly in front of the display

  • Wipe off the small clear lens on the front end of the remote

  • The remote is designed to work within 20' of the system. Greater distance may cause intermittent response

My bose wave radio II remote is not working. I

It will work without the remote, but can ve very unconfortable. If you have a webcam or digital camera or cell phone with camera, then point it to the small lamp in front of the remote and press any button. If the light blinks or keeps on, then the problem may be on the radio receptor. If light is dark, then take it to an electronics store an ask for an INFRARED LED DIODE replacement. This should work well.

The remote does not work; the battery was replaced.

HI
It's very rare that a remote control would just stop working, take out the new battery and look at the contacts. Are they slightly corroded or tarnished in some way? If so, use a small nail file or emery board to get them shiny. Try it again. If there is still a problem you need to find out if it still transmitting so, use a radio with AM or Medium Wave/Long Wave on it, press any button on the remote and tune through the band and you should hear it pulsing.
If there is no pulsing sound or the item it is for is not responding then you may have to replace the remote. Sometimes those cheap remotes with a book of codes can work the item in most cases. I have a Rotel CD player and have used such a remote to work it.
Hope this helps you and the best of luck.

My Bose wave radio with aux. for attaching to a CD player stopped working. I tried plugging it different places. It is an old system.

Unfortunately Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively giving them a monopoly on repairs. According to their web site, www.bose.com, they will repair most Wave radios for $100 or give you $200 credit towards the purchase of a new set. Check your options before you spend the big bucks though. A new HD radio, with better sound and a MUCH lower price, might be a better choice than repair of a problem prone Bose.
