SOURCE: Only heats to 220?

I found this somewhere else on this website as a solution to this problem.

Solution #1 is the answer -- replace the regulator. The problem is that the regulator is stuck closed. You can either replace it, or pop the little metal cap on the top off and adjust it. (Use a large philips screwdriver). Do a full turn counter-clockwise, and then 3/4 of a turn clockwise.

I have yet to try it myself, but it seemed to help others with similar difficulties. Hope it works!

SOURCE: My grill does not heat beyond 300 degrees.

Hello,

Check the excess flow safety device, which is part if the barbeque to cylinder connection, may have activated. To reset the excess flow safety device turn all burner control knobs and the cylinder valve off.
Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder. Turn burner control knobs to high. Wait at least 1 minute . Turn burner control knobs OFF. Reconnect the regulator to the cylinder. turn cylinder valve slowly. I HAD THIS PROBLEM JUST LAST NIGHT AND FIXED IT RIGHT THEN.

Try turning off the valve to the tank, then leave the knobs on the grill open for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the grill knobs, slowly, slowly open the valve on the tank. Relight the grill and see if it gets hot.

Master forge l3218 Low Heat Issue

Had the same issue with the three burner model, the grill wouldnt heat as quickly as it should. Thought it was an issue with the regulator but decided to work our way from the burners to the tank to eliminate possible causes. we got to the valves were you select the heatnig level and discovered that sugar ants had gotten into there somehow and died, enough of them to block the valve without completely closing it. to solve we removed the valves, disassembled them and ran a pipe cleaner through them to clean any buildup away. after doing this for ll three and reassembling the parts and putting them back onto the grill it works perfectly and heats up like it was brand new.

zonfish - if you're tuning the gas tank off at each use, as you should. The problem lies in your grill's gas regulator, but it also is not a big deal and is easily solved.

Whenever, you open the tank valve, do it VERY, VERY, SLOWLY (Slow Motion, slow), until it is fully open. Then light the burners.

What happens is this, LP Gas Grill Tanks are now equipped with an Overfill Protection Device ("OPD"). And often time, when you turn the valve on like you would normally do, the OPD Valve sends a hot load of gas to your grill's regulator and partially locks it up or locks up entirely. Therefore, the burners are not getting enough gas to heat the unit up to 500 degrees. Opening the valve very, very, slowly, overcomes this problem.

I hope this helped you and Happy Grilling.

When I turn on the gas to my grill, not enough gas comes through the inside of the grill to heat the grill. The tank is full, all of the grates are new. It will only heat to around 200 degrees

Hi,
That would be a regulator problem, assuming that the gas tank ain't almost shot...
Get a new regulator and that will get you that burger...

Grill won't heat up above 200 DEGREES with a nearly full tank

Try replacing the regulator and hose, not very expensive and fairly easy to do. If that doesn't help, let me know.

The grill begins to heat up and stops. Only will

I believe you are out of propane. There is enough pressure to light the grill but as the liquid propane boils the temerature of the tank drops reducing pressure, and flame gose out.
