It's not your dirty CD but dirt on the head. Canned air usually works
But if not, very gently use alcohol and once over the optical laser then use the other end of the q tip to dry it.
I do this all the time just as a precaution. Unfortunately Netflix sends me a lot of dirty disks. quite a few cracked, too.
