Cleaning behind the front glass of De Dietrich microwave oven

My daughter has spilt a glass of milk on my De Dietrich microwave door. The milk streaks are behind the front glass and are very noticeable when the door is closed. Can this front glass be removed?

SOURCE: De Dietrich DME 112 XU2 Turntable not working

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount (which are pretty simple problems to fix) or occasionally a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

One test that sometimes helps is to gently lift up (and/or push down) on the door or handle as you try to start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount or door alignment issue.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa:.

Our De Dietrich DME715X microwave oven is sparking from the ceiling - have tried a new wave guide cover but that did not work.

Some ovens have a tuning stub in the wave guide. If it has become loose or rusted, it could cause the problem. If that's the cause, you would have to transfer all of the oven's components to a new cavity. This is usually not done due to the cost, although I did do this once on an oven that was still under warranty.

Make sure the wave guide is clean inside.

Also check for rust near the wave guide cover. Re painting damaged areas might help.

Sparks fly, too, if the ovens contents do not contain enough water to absorb enough of the microwave energy. Leftover energy converts itself into electrical current in any conductive material (such as cavity panels).

My De Dietrich DME 101XE1/3 microwave oven does not work.

I'd check the door switches first. The primary and secondary ones must go into the closed position when the door is shut.

You might also have an open thermal cut out on the outside of the cavity. There is also one on the magnetron you could check, although it's les likely to cause this problem.

Avoid all high voltage components, as there's likely to be a 4000 volt charge on the high voltage capacitor. Unpleasant to touch, and it could be fatal.

How to reset De Dietrich oven DO410

follow this step and fix it. A power surge or random non-reproducible action of the universe may have resulted in the controller's program ending up in an infinite loop. Pull the plug for a minute or two to reset it.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

Noisy turntable

I has this problem with a Sears unit. The repairman simply removed the glass tray, cleaned all the wheels and the 3 toothed driver wheel in the middle and it became quiet. He explained that if any buildup keeps the plate from properly seating on the gear, it gets very noisy.
