Please check for a the ( Fn) key which is found next to the left side ctrl marked by a blue colour. cleck to see if this is jammed as only by holding the fn key down will the alphabets change to numerical. If the fault is persisting again open your keyboards settings and check for default settings. Also try to reinstall the drivers or else restore you computer to an earlier good restore point by clicking on control panel, select back up /restore. I hope this clears your fault. Good day.

Turning the numerical key lock off should solve the problem. If your laptop keyboard doesn't have the numerical key lock, then you can either use an external keyboard or run a program that gives you on screen keyboard (such as C:\WINDOWS\system32\osk.exe).

Numerical keypad offset numlock on keyboard

Examine your keyboard to ensure your "Number Lock" key is not activated.

This activation is indicated by the key being lit up.

If the key is activated, press it to deactivate the lock.

The number lock key will deactivate an entire segment of your keyboard

Start, click Run, and type regedit to open the Windows registry editor.

In the registry, open the below folders.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
Control Panel\
Keyboard\

Within the keyboard folder, you should have a string value named "InitialKeyboardIndicators" with a value of 0, 1, or 2. Below is the explanation of each of these values.

0 = Num Lock is turned OFF after the logon.
1 = Disable Num Lock.
2 = Numlock is turned ON after the logon.

hope this helps

Alphabet keys displaying numeric

This happens when you have the Num Lk (Number Lock) key on and you have Pressed the FN Function key at the lower left hand portion of the keyboard. When this happens if you press the keys such as UIOJKLM you will key the numbers 4561230.

Turn your Num Lk off by pressing that key at the top of the keyboard.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7462 and the keyboard is acting weird. when I type and press H key it automatically goes in front of the last alphabet i type and when I press down up and side arrow keys...

This is caused by a short in the keyboard. Either something was spilled into the keyboard, or it was hit by a hard object.
Search EBay! for a replacement keyboard. Most of the time you can find them for $35-$50 and have a professional install it for you.

What do; the four little lights below my keyboard mean? One is the battery, one is the internet, but the other two? Especially the third from the lert with the icon that looks like a stack of pancakes?

The icon that looks like a stack of pancakes is the one for the hard disk drive and the indicator with the icon flickers or lights whenever there is hard disk activity. The reading / writing of large files will cause the hard disk drive activity indicator to light almost steadily until the file reads / writes have completed. There are two icons that look like little padlocks. One has the character 1 and the other has letter A. The padlock icon with the 1 in the middle is the indicator for NumLk or Numeric Keypad lock. Pressing the Fn key and the key with NumLk on it turns the Numeric Keypad on and off. When it is on, pressing the keys for UIOJKL will enter 456123 facilitating entry of numbers with the keys arranged as a keypad along with the top row of keys 789. Finally, the padlock icon with the A in the middle is the Caps Lock indicator which lights when the Caps Lock key is pressed allowing subsequent presses of letter keys to be capitals without having to press the shift key. Pressing Caps Lock a second time turns off the Caps Lock. Similarly, a second press of Fn and NumLk turns off the NumLk.

hi

You could try press the F11 key which is normally the number lock key top left hand side of the keyboard

or if that dont work try the Fn blue key bottom left of keyboard at same time as the F11 key

so either F11

or

Fn+F11

i hope this works for you

do you have a manual for your laptop because hopefully that will explain things about your laptop

if not you could download one from the laptop manufacturer and you will need to save the manual to your desktop and install adobe reader to be able to read it Free Download

type into your search the name of your laptop plus manual or support

if your laptop was a acer www.acer.com if a hp www.hp.com if a compaq www.compaq.com etc etc then go to support/downloads type in your make model and operating system and look for the manual

good luck

Can't get on the internet my password has numbers in it the and I don't know how to change from letters to numbers

There should be numbers on your keyboard or a NumLock key to use the number-pad (desktop keyboard) on the right of the keyboard, otherwise use the numbers at the top of the keyboard.
