I cannot get or send emails. my server is not working

This indicates either an incorrect password or server settings. Make sure your account is setup as follows:

IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: mail.btinternet.com
Port: 993 (this should be automatically populated if you tick the SSL Encryption)
SSL Encryption: Enabled (but not STARTTLS)
Username: your email address including the @btinternet or @btopenworld.com part
Password: your btinternet password
Root folder/path:
Folder separator: . (full stop)
Please do NOT enable "secure password authentication" (SPA). It's not needed when you use SSL encryption and won't work.
If your IMAP client supports it, we recommend you also set up the following folders:
Trash
Sent Items
Drafts
POP3
Server: mail.btinternet.com
Port: 995 (this should be automatically populated if you tick SSL Encryption)
SSL Encryption: Enabled (but not STARTTLS)
Username: your email address including the @btinternet or @btopenworld.com part
Password: your btinternet password
POP from folder: By default, POP will pull emails from your Inbox
SMTP
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.btinternet.com
Port: 465 (this may not be automatically populated on selection of SSL, so you'll need to check this)
SSL Encryption: Enabled (but not STARTTLS)
Authentication: PLAIN
Username: your email address including the @btinternet or @btopenworld.com part
Password: your btinternet password

My password does not work after updating my lap top. It ask for contact via email which is a former company I do not work for. How can I contact yahoo to correct this

Dear Costmer,
This is one of those ideas that sounds good but may be more trouble than it's worth. If you work for a big company then drive encryption is straightforward. Staff will be using the Enterprise edition of Microsoft Windows, which includes the BitLocker drive encryption system. This automatically encrypts any files saved to the hard drive, and USB thumb drives and other external devices can be encrypted using BitLocker To Go. IT staff can set everything up using a management console and use your Active Directory service to store the recovery keys. However, BitLocker is not included with consumer versions of Windows, only with Enterprise and (expensive) Ultimate versions, and I wouldn't recommend this approach to individual users. Nor would I recommend similar systems aimed at corporate users, such as McAfee Endpoint Encryption and Sophos SafeGuard Enterprise.
If you really want to take this route, the usual option is TrueCrypt, though it's far from user-friendly. This is free (donationware), open source "virtual drive" encryption software, and it's available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. However, it has no supporting management infrastructure, and no key recovery system. If you forget your password, or something goes wrong with the TrueCrypt file, there is no way to get your data back. You must therefore keep separate backups.

I have encrypted my local disk using bitlocker encryption and now it shows Local Disk(D:) is not accessible Access is denied and when i right click it was not showing security tab. please help me

Try This:

Before you start
  • You must be logged on as an administrator.

  • The volume must be encrypted.

To turn off BitLocker Drive Encryption
  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  2. From the BitLocker Drive Encryption page, find the volume on which you want BitLocker Drive Encryption turned off, and click Turn Off BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  3. From the What level of decryption do you want dialog box, click either Disable BitLocker Drive Encryption or Decrypt the volume as needed.
By completing this procedure, you have either disabled BitLocker or decrypted the operating system volume.

    Good Luck!!

Same proble, MS BitLocker is error message.

Bitlocker is available for Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate. This gives more security to your data files against unauthorized access. Once bitlocker detects theres a major change of hardware, such as master boot record, motherboard replacememt and such, it thinks that the hard drive is moved to another computer. Usually, bitlocker encryption can be disabled using the USB drive that was used to store the codes for decryption.

Receive Security Warning

So this is in your internet window? Pretty much all internet windows are unencrypted and unsafe. Use Outlook for encryption. It is more than likely is a generic XP warning window. Click on it and should just redirect you Yahoo. Yahoo mail, hotmail, gmail, they are all encrypted to a certain degree. Don't send passwords, bank account info, etc. through email though. Hope that helped.
