Hello:

If the unit is competely dead, then you may of blown a fuse or the power supply has failed in the unit. If you take off the top of the unit while unpluged check the fuses near where the power cord attaches to the inside of the unit this is the power supply area, If you have indicators lit or the display is coming on then the unit may have a bad power supply or the System control board has failed. It which case its cheaper to just purchase a new unit.

I have this problem. When I disconnect the Hard drive, however, the machine powers up O.K., but only on self-check mode. I am investigating further, but you might like to see if this is what you have got.

Where the ecm/pcm located on a chevy avalanche 2002

The pcm is just under the battery on the left side of the engine compartment. The PCM need to be calibrated to the truck and motor. If you just put it in the motor may not start. Read over the information I have attached before you do this. Ken Powertrain Control Module Replacement Service of the powertrain control module (PCM) should consist of either replacement of the PCM or electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM) programming. If diagnostic procedures call for the PCM to be replaced, the replacement PCM should be checked to ensure that the correct part is being used. If the correct part is being used, remove the faulty PCM and install the new service PCM.
Important: To prevent internal PCM damage, the ignition must be OFF when disconnecting or reconnecting power to the PCM. For example, when working with a battery cable, PCM pigtail, PCM fuse, or jumper cables. • Remove any debris from the PCM connector surfaces before servicing the PCM. Inspect the PCM module connector gaskets when diagnosing or replacing the PCM. Ensure that the gaskets are installed correctly. The gaskets prevent contaminant intrusion into the PCM. • The replacement PCM must be programmed.

Removal Procedure

Important: It is necessary to record the remaining engine oil life. If the replacement module is not programed with the remaining engine oil life, the engine oil life will default to 100%. If the replacement module is not programmed with the remaining engine oil life, the engine oil will need to be changed at 5000 km (3,000 mi) from the last engine oil change.
  1. Using a scan tool, retrieve the percentage of remaining engine oil. Record the remaining engine oil life.

DVD recorder power up problems

Makes no sense but if it can be used as a recorder why worry about it. My Panasonic spinned the disc at will for a minute and went back to sleep again.

How to record from DVD to VCR

The simplest method to record VHS to DVD is to purchase a recorder which has both VHS and DVD. They are relatively inexpensive now. You simply connect the device to your television via coaxial or audio/video cables. Insert the VHS tape in one side and the blank DVD media on the other. Press record and soon you will be watching your old VHS tapes on your DVD player.

Batteries do not last but a very few pictures. Even rechargeable ones drain very fast

In DSCW7 Camera, you can use NH-AA-DA (Ni-MH) batteries (this is the supplied one) or Alkaline batteries.
With the LCD screen on, you can capture upto 190 minutes when using the supplied Nickel metal hydride batteries.
When using the Alkaline batteries, the life is only for 35 minutes.
This is a normal operation of the Camera.

The actual battery life will vary depending on how the camera is operated and what functions and types of batteries are used; using zoom and flash frequently will shorten the battery charge.

The average recording time of the battery as listed on the packaging will vary due to several different factors, including ambient temperature and the power consumption of the camera. The battery package states the power consumption specification needed to achieve the average recording time. If the camera power consumption is more than the specification on the battery packaging, the average continuous recording time will be lowered.

Also, batteries discharge faster when used in cold weather conditions. In cold environments, it is recommended that batteries be kept in a warm place before using. Sometimes batteries may recover some power if they are warmed up after being in the cold.

When using alkaline batteries, do not mix new batteries with used batteries. Doing so may reduce the battery life.

Just bought Kingston 2GB SD Card for Boss Micro BR but when maching turned on,its frozen on KEEP POWER ON! SONG LOADING!

This is likely a compatibility issue. Turn power off and remove the card and make sure the unit comes back to life.

SD card compatibility can be a problem.

You might want to go to VSPLANET.com as there is a lot of info on forums about recorders.

Turntable does not rotate when switched 'on'.

K, I'm not familiar with that particular stereo unit but there were a lot of stereos from years gone past that used a turntable made by BSR. When you activate the switch to start the turntable listen closely to the record platter for a hum or possibly the sound of a motor turning (they're quite quiet). Is the switch lever you pull rectangular made of black plastic, you pull it towards you one click to start the record and pull it one step further (spring loaded) to make the tone arm lift from the record automatically? Just want to make sure I'm talking about the right turntable before we continue.

Writing DVD is not seamless

Not only you. A lot of people have same issue.I have read a lot of questions and answers, forum about JVC software Power cinema ...etc... ( go to www.videoforums.co.uk/general-sofware-problem/12080-jvc-everio-sofware.html ).Headache.That sofware from JVC is a scrap.

Buy a DVD Recorder ( cheap one ) . Record directly from your Camcorder on Replay mode. That is my way.It is good.

Please tell all of your friends, family , co-workers never buy any products from JVC again. NEVER all your life.

Apparent lifelessness!

Hello abdees,

The power supply has failed, could be a bad fuse or the power supply has burned out, which happens offten.
If the fuse is bad and is in a fuse holder it can be replaced, however if it is soldered in then I would advise you to get it replaced by a qualified TV repair person. If the power supply is just burnt out you should think about getting a new DVD player/recorder.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

How long does the battery last?

Battery life varies according to the Viewcam's ® operation. The use of zoom and other functions increase power consumption, so actual recording time may be reduced. Extended-life batteries may be purchased separately.
