Question about HP LaserJet M4345 MultiFunction Printer

Paper jammed at this time error message show on control panel 13.05.00-Jam in top cover area open front covers and Transfer unit. Fuser is hot transfer unit can be easily damaged. Check left side of opening and remove any jammed paper. Then reinstall print cartridge and close top cover. Remove any jammed paper close fuser access and levers close front covers. what is the problem. How solve this problem?

This error comes when media doesn't come to fuser delivery sencor with in the specified time it may be due to improper paper picking or fault in registration ***...

HAVING A 13.20.00 ERROR CODE ON A HP 43OO. PLEASE HELP!!


JAM IN TOP COVER AREA
A jam exists in the top-cover area.
A 13.20.00 error message indicates that the printer power was turned on or that the printer attempted to initialize while the pre-feed sensor (PS102), the top of page sensor (PS102) and/or the fuser delivery sensor (PS108) was detecting media.

When the paper feed assembly is installed, the sensor-flag spring must be correctly positioned
for the flag to operate. If a paper-jam error message (13.20.00 JAM) appears on the control-panel
display after you replace the paper feed assembly, verify that this sensor-flag spring is installed
correctly.
Hook the spring over the flag tab (see 1 in Figure). Fasten the paper feed assembly to the
chassis with the flag spring positioned in the hole in the transfer assembly. Release the spring
from the tab on the flag (see 2 in Figure). See figure below.
Verify that the flag is held in the upright position, can freely move, and always returns to the upright
position. If the flag does not move freely, or return to the upright position, an error
message (13.20.00 JAM) will appear on the control-panel display when the printer power is turned
on.

This error is associated with either a sheet of paper blocking the paper path or a partial piece of paper that blocks path or trips a sensor. The printer will usually throw up a error code 13.XX on the display and the XX is a number that will indicate where in the paper path this error most probably occurred. Just follow the steps for your error on the below chart.

If the message persists after all jams have been cleared, a sensor or sensor lever might be stuck or broken. For all jam messages, do the following: 1. Remove jammed print media from the specified location. Check the entire paper path for other pieces of media in the path. 2. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 3. Check sensors and flags in the paper path for proper operation. 3.0 PAPER JAM [LOCATION] A non-specific paper jam occurred. 1. Remove jammed media from the specified location. 2. Verify the paper tray is fully closed. 3. Inspect and/or replace the feed and separation rollers. 4. Ensure there is no obstruction in the path, such as a torn piece of paper. 5. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 6. Check sensors and flags for proper operation. 13.1 PAPER JAM OPEN INPUT TRAYS Paper-delay jam at paperfeed area. 1. Ensure that paper trays are loaded and adjusted properly so media can feed from the tray. It might be necessary to reduce the stack height of media in the tray. 2. Check the input area for obstructions such as media in the path. Also check to see if the registration assembly damaged or unseated. 3. Replace any defective sensors or flags. 4. Verify the media meets the specifications. 5. Check the pickup feed and separation rollers for unusual wear. Replace as needed. 6. Rotate the media in the input tray by 180° and/or turn it over On NX engines this is most likely the fuser flag or the ACPM. The ACPM has a photosensor hard-wired to the back of it. 13.10 PAPER JAM CHECK DUPLEXER Jam at duplexer. 1. Check the duplexer and the rear area of the printer for obstructions or damage. 2. Check the duplexer for proper operation. Replace the duplexer if a sensor is defective. On a 5si, 8000, or 8100 series laserjet a Duplex Jam can be caused by a tray 2 and 3 feed assembly failure. 13.14 For Laserjet 5si. This error is caused by a defective paper control PCA Replace paper control PCA. 13.2 PAPER JAM OPEN INPUT TRAYS Paper-stopped jam at paper-feed area. 1. Check the input area for obstructions such as paper in the path. Also check to see if the registration assembly is damaged or if the transfer roller is out of place. 2. Replace any defective sensors or flags. 3. Ensure the media does not exceed the maximum length. 4. If multiple sheets are feeding, it might be necessary to fan the media and reduce the stack height. Also, replace separation pad. 5. Verify that the fuser is properly installed. On NX engines this is an input jam. 13.20 PAPER JAM CHECK REAR DOOR Media stopped in the paper path during power on or when the top door was closed. 1. Remove all media in the paper path, and then open and close the top cover. 2. If the message persists after all media is removed: Check if media is jammed in the prefeed area. Replace any defective sensors or flags 13.21 DOOR OPEN JAM The top cover was open while printing. 1. Clear the jam and close the top door. 2. If the message persists, check the top door switch for proper operation. 13.5 PAPER JAM CHECK REAR DOOR Paper-delay jam at fuser. 1. Check the transfer roller and small media belt to ensure they are operating and can feed print media. 2. Check the paper path for obstructions at the transfer roller, toner cartridge, paper feed assembly, and fuser. 3. Replace any defective sensors or flags. 4. Turn the media stack over and/ or rotate it by 180° in the input tray. If still persists - replace fuser, then DC controller. 13.6 PAPER JAM CHECK REAR DOOR Paper-stopped jam at fuser. 1. Check the paper path for obstructions at the fuser and output/delivery area. 3. Replace any defective sensors or flags. 13.99 PAPER JAM [LOCATION] A non-specific paper jam occurred. 1. Remove jammed media from the specified location. 2. Verify the paper tray is fully closed. 3. Inspect and/or replace the feed and separation rollers. 4. there is most probly a pease of paper in side the fuser unit.See if you lift the top cover just under the scanner, the hole top lifts up!!!!!!.in the back you wil be able to see the fuser.Be carefull IT IS HOT!!!!!!!see if you can get eny papers in there.And try to take it out carefully.Otherwise will have to strip it to take the fuser apart to clean it up

After my old fuser assembly wrapped and fused a sheet of paper around the rollers,I installed a new fuser. But now I get a continuing error message, "Jam in Exit Area" even though the paper path is clear,...


This error usually happens on Laser printers after removing a jam and the sensor is not correctly placed in the right location. "exit area" refers to the switch where the page exist the printer, you can find a black piece of plastic that moves, that is the "sensor". When it moves, blocks the infrared light from the photodiode. That is the source of the problem.

Perhaps the plastic part is not correctly placed so doesn't detect the paper exiting the printer OR some foreign material is obstructing the photodiode (perhaps toner? dust?).

Disassemble is required to perform a visual inspection. If everything looks fine, look for broken wires, faulty connectors (from that area).

If you don't have experience about disassembling the printer and need more assistance, please let us know.

pull your fuser out and you will find the jam and reason for the noise. it is pulled from the rear 2 covers and 2 screws

Paper Jam Error on Dell 3100cn Laser Printer


Push the side button and open the front cover

Pull out the jammed paper from the duplexer. If jammed paper cannot be found, go to the next step.

Pull up on the belt release levers and rotate the belt unit up

Remove the jammed paper and close the belt unit

Close the front cover

Rollers do not turn on!
Rollers are driven by a motor.
How is the printer telling you this information? (does the PC give an error, or the printer flash lights)

Does the paper make it out of the machine?

Is this "Rollers in the Back" the Fuser Unit?

is The Fuser unit is going bad,
if you open the back top cover, where it gets real hot, where the paper exit's, you should see two rollers, one orange, one either brown or black.. if that orange roller is damaged, has crease's, or covered with black toner, if the paper jams here alott, you probably need a new fuser unit. there is a pm kit available which includes the fuser and rollers, transfer, etc, which this site might have
