Ok..so i have my main computer on my upper floor with a wirless moter and a normal one. goes down stairs to my second computer and i can get internet perfectly but i dont know how to set up my wirless networking adaptor (xbox 360)i can get it for the first thing but it says my ip adress is messed up or something like that and ive tried putting it in aoutomatic and ive put the ip address from both my computers but it still dosent work plz help =*(
The 1st question I have is, are you using the official Microsoft wireless adapter (sold seperatly) manufactured by Microsoft? That is the first solution to this issue. If so you must go into your router settings using the home router IP address usually listed on the router unit and setup the router manually to see the microsoft wireless adapter (sold seperatly), try typing this ip address into your browser address line (192.168.1.1) this is usually a generic router IP address to access your router. Your 360 should have a MAC address listed when in the settings and that should be seen by the router as well. Also check your firewall settings to make sure that it allows wireless transmissions. ( My computer usually has to be running for it to see wired & wireless devices properly). I also prefer just running a wired network for connectivity issues with wireless, such as other electronic interferrence from cordless phones & microwaves as I sometimes get with my nintendo Wii. if there is no control of air movement between floors and you have it on cooling then any cold air will go down to the lower floor
or alternately if you have it set on heating all the hot air will rise to the upper floor
where is the system located (upstairs or down stairs ) and where is the thermostat located
to get control close any upstairs to down stairs doors or erect a heavy curtain across the stair well
With a two story house you have to be aware that cold air flows downwards so any cold air coming from an ac unit will flow downstairs( normally down the stairway) so unless you can close off the down stairs then the up stairs unit will be cooling downstairs as well. Ac units have a thermostat located in the air intake and it cools until the cold air has risen to that point. In effect the space above the ac unit will be hotter than the floor. Knowing how they work ,you can see that the upstairs unit will never reach the set temperature because the cold air is continually heating from the house and will never get to the top thermostat.
So your solutions are
1-- fit controls that restrict the cold air from leaving the upper floor (Doors)
2--don't run the upper ac unit unless you are living up there (waste of money
)3 place an ac in each upper room and keep the room door closed
I assume the wireless router is configured correctly and the PC can connect to the wireless router and the Internet.
The problem could be that the signal is too weak upstairs for the XBox especially if you have a concrete floor between the XBox and the wireless router. Try moving the wireless router around to increase signal strength to the CBox.
The other problem could be the XBox is not configured correctly.
Follow these instructions to configure the XBox.
In the Xbox Dashboard, go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
Select Network Settings, Configure Network.
On the Basic Settings tab, select your wireless settings.
Select the name (SSID) of your wireless network. If your router isn't broadcasting your network's name, select Specify Unlisted Network and enter the name.
If your network has wireless security, enter your WEP or WPA key.
1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.
Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.
try using WEP encryption, especially if you use a G router, as thid is easier for the adapter to work with then WPA. also make sure that you have the ports open for xbox Live, i think its ports 88 and 3074
Make sure that you have an Xbox Live Gold subscription first,
Second You won't both be able to play at the same time enless it is a game that provides guest support(and in some games WITH) guest support you cannot play anything ranked online. To sign in a game with Guest support hit the guide button on the second controller select choose profile and scroll down, if u see "Guest" as a profile and you did not create it, then that game has guest support, and you can both play.
If u are just trying to let him play alone then you have to sign him in how you would normally
It should hook up but Xbox live is having a ton of issues basically xboxlive is down and wont be back up for a while. you can go to www.xboxlive.com and search under status then go to support this will let you know when you can connect back up to xbox live.
If you problem isnt with xboxlive then you will need to get a wireless router. Then go through the steps to set up a wireless network and then set your xbox to that wireless network.
