With these automatic pool cleaners, this is a pretty common problem with newer models and one that is usually an easy fix. First make sure that you are getting the proper amount of water flow and that it is consistent. Too much water flow can cause the cleaner to rise to the surface during cleaning. Make sure that you have proper tension in the rear flap. Too much tension could cause it to float. Make sure that all air is removed from the cleaner head. Make sure that the hose is not becoming tangled and that the return lines are functioning properly.

Zodiac G3 goes up the wall and floats upside down sucking air

  1. Air Leak: If there is an air leak in the system, the suction power may be affected, causing the cleaner to lose its grip on the pool surface and float towards the surface while sucking air. This can happen if there are loose connections or damaged parts like hoses or seals.
  2. Blockage: If there is a blockage in the cleaner's intake or hoses, it can disrupt the flow of water and lead to a loss of suction. As a result, the cleaner may struggle to maintain contact with the pool surface, causing it to float upside down while drawing in air.
  3. Insufficient Water Flow: Insufficient water flow through the pool's filtration system can also cause the Zodiac G3 to float upside down while taking in air. If the pump is not pushing enough water, the cleaner will struggle to navigate the pool and stay firmly attached to the walls or the floor.
  4. Defective Parts: It is possible that there could be a defect in the Zodiac G3's internal components, such as the diaphragm or the flow regulator. These defects may disrupt the cleaner's normal operation, causing it to float upside down and suck in air.
If you are experiencing this issue, it is recommended to check for any visible air leaks, blockages, or potential defects in the cleaner and its components. If the problem persists, contacting the manufacturer or a pool professional for assistance would be advisable.

15 x 48 pool We are on a well Pool was filled and was clear until heavy rain then water turned brown Shock didn't help Have float we with 3 inch tablets Pump is running What will clear the water

a flocking agent will do the job
look for products with brand names such as pool clear , pond clear etc
the chemical attracts the floating particles or mud/ algae takes them to the pool bottom to be sucked up with the cleaner or taken to the filter
available from most pool supplies shops

Hi, I also bought my Bull Shark Kreepy Krauly recently - 3 months ago. Since day 1 it liftes up at the end and does not move flat on the surface of the swimming pool. Please assist.

First, check for debris in the pool cleaners flapper. This can cause a lack of suction the floor. Also, check for proper hose balance. If the hose rests at a greater than 45 degree angle, the hose is too light and you need to move the hose weights closer to the cleaner. If the hose rests at a less than 45 degree angle, you need to move the weights away from the cleaner.

My Pentair legend pool cleaner is not moving

On this automatic pool cleaner, this is usually an easy thing to fix. First, make sure that your filter bag is clean and free of obstructions. Next, take of your head float and shake it. If you can hear water inside, you will need to order a new head float and install it. They are usually inexpensive and easy to replace. Make sure the hose floats are evenly placed and make sure that the cleaner is not getting too much pressure from the return lines.

Phanton pool sweep just turns in a circle upside down

This definitely sounds like an issue with the pool cleaners hose. Look for a bend or kink near the connection between the hose and cleaner. If you notice one, try stretching the hose on a flat surface in the sun for several hours. If this doesnt work, you will probably have to replace the hose.

Our KK. will work great for maybe 5 minutes, but then stops. It is still chugging, but does not move. Had this problem last summer and bought a new KK. Had the pool replumbed. Have put new gasket on leaf...

There are a couple of things that will cause Kreepy to not move. Basic things to look at to resolve this issue:
1. Check the Footpad, the very bottom part of the cleaner, there should be raised sections on the clear rubber ring. There should be texturing on those sections, should feel like a soft sandpaper. If the sections are smooth, that needs to be replaced.

2. Is the Seal flat on the pool surface? If not, you may need to move the first weight about 8 to 10 inches from the Swivel Head.

3. Does the cleaner stop moving in the same area? When your system is running, can you see the water "rippling across" the top of the water from the return lines? If so, the issue may be your return lines. The cleaner follows the hose, so where the hose floats the cleaner will follow. If the return lines are not allowing the hose to move, then the cleaner will stop moving. Pentair recommends that your return lines should be angled downward at a 4 to 7 o'clock angle, all going in the same direction. This will take a day, or so, to re-direct the flow of water in the pool. However, by moving the flow of water from the top, or toward the center of pool, to a downward circular movement will allow the hose to float freely around the pool.

Hayward phantom will not float fully to the surface

If it has skimmed the top of the pool before try rearranging sections of the hose and make sure all sections of hose can rotate freely.
