    Hi,
The below solution did not work from some other expert so i need assistance.

    "Hi Amit,
Thanks for using FixYa. LG BD370 player can be made region free my applying some mods and tweaks on it. To make it region free you'll need to download a firmware and install that on your player and after that you can make it region free. The firmware can be downloaded from this link---
    LG BD370 region free firmware
After downloading it, unzip the file and you'll see a RMTM0000 file (not the text file but the other file). Now use a CD/DVD burner program that can make .ISO files(CD/DVD Image files). You can download this kind of software from this link---
    ISO burning Software
After downloading this, install the software and burn the folder 'RMTM0000' to a CD-R making sure that the directories stay in order Insert the disk into your player, you will then be presented with a region change menu. Select desired region (0 for all regions). Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance."

Hi,

Yes the player can be made region free.

To set DVD Region to “any”, download file “6000.zip” (often also called “LG6000.zip”) from this link:

http://www.multi-region.net/_media/6000.zip

Save the file and then unzip and extract it to your hard drive. Now burn the subdirectory RMTM0000 and its contents (not the text file) onto a blank CD-ROM (ISO format, “closed” CD-ROM). Unplug any ethernet cables and insert CD-ROM into the LG BD 370 P player, and when the Region Management System screen is displayed, set the Region Code to “0” using your remote. Once done, press “PAUSE” on you remote to save, and you’re done!

NOTE: You must close the session on the disc. These are ESSENTIAL points if you want this region code to work!!! I recommend Nero burning suit for this as it allows the sessions to be closed. You can download a free demo version of the software from Nero.com

If you have the latest firmware on the unit you may have to downgrade the firmware first to apply the region free code. Download an older firmware from the link below and try the CD again.

If this does not work please post back for an alternative.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa

    Hi again,

Download the file Special_firmware(V3[1].886.01)_for_V3.886.00.zip from LG's site.
Turn off the DVD unit. Copy the File : LG_BD_370M.ROM (size 26.809.552 Byte) to a simple blank USB
    Stick.

Power on the BD370 and Plug the Stick to USB Port
Upgrade" Screen appears. - > Do the Downgrade to V3......

Unit will Reboot - Power manually on again.

Now pop the correctly burned disk into the drive and try the region hack again.

Let me know if you have anymore problems.

Just a quick note: If it downgrades the firmware this time and after you have changed the region code you should upgrade to V7... again via Lan or USB. There should be no probs to the changed
region code as it seems to be stored elsewhere in the machine´s memory.

    Good luck!!!!

  • AMIT SHARMA Jul 14, 2010

    Hi,

After i inserted the USB stick no "Upgrade Screen" appeared.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Lets try this again.

I take it the file you have downloaded is Special_firmware_for_V3.886.00.zip and the file inside once extracted is LG_BD_370M.ROM yes?

If so reformat a memory pen and just copy the LG_BD_370M.ROM to it.

Turn on the player, wait until menu shows up, then insert USB stick and downgrade
    the firmware to V3.

Let me know how you get on.

  • AMIT SHARMA Jul 14, 2010

    Hi,

I reformatted the USB and copied the LG_BD_370M.ROM to it. Started my Blu-Ray player and waited for the menu to appear, and then inserted the USB it detected the USB but nothing appeared on the screen for Version downgrading.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Is there an option to upgrade? If so choose that because it won't say downgrade.

  • AMIT SHARMA Jul 14, 2010

    Hi,

It will ask for a upgrade if i plug in the ethernet cable and unfortunately i do not have that arrangement right now so i cannot upgrade also.

    Thanks,

    Amit

    Lee Hodgson Jul 14, 2010

You don't want the ethernet cable in anway at this point. We need to get the player to downgrade before you can upgrade it.

Try it this way >>>>> turn off the unit, plug in the USB, then turn it on again.

  • AMIT SHARMA Jul 14, 2010

I tried that also, and the USB is not recognized, the USB is only recognized when after the menu appears and the USB is plugged in.

    Thanks,

    Amit

    Hi Amit.

Try it again that way then. If its ask's to be upgraded then choose that option.

I just have to take my dogs for their business, i'll be around 20 mins or so.

Good luck, i hope it succeeds this time round.

Try the Canadian version instead seeing as Canada is North America. Reformat the disk and copy the file to it don't rename the file >>>>>>

    http://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/product/...

    Remember its the special update.

To see the system config Go to Setup -> TV Aspect ->
    Select 16:9 (original) -> 1 3 9 7 1 3 9 -> Enter
and see if there is a letter after the model number and post back with it

If this doesn't work let me know and i'll look into this further as this hack should work

    Hi Amit,

I need some time to trouble shoot this problem, probably later on today if thats ok? Try the canadian versions as i posted before because some players are sold as american when they're really canadian.

  • AMIT SHARMA Jul 15, 2010

    Hi,

I tried the Canadian also, but it did not recognizethe .ROM file in the USB.

    Hi again Amit,

The V at the end of the model number stands for the states, possibly North America so i've been told.

After trawling the internet and talking with friends i have found the USA support website for this player.

Download both the files and try the special one first using the methods described, you might have to change the file name again.
Also in the latest update there 2 files. One of those may revert to an older version of software allowing you to use the special downgrade.

If it allows the downgrade from the American site the use the CD to unlock the player.

    Link here >>>

    Again Amit, very good luck.

  • AMIT SHARMA Jul 15, 2010

    Hi,

    Lee Hodgson Jul 15, 2010

    Hi Amit,

I wouldn't use the any of the newer S/W just yet.

Have you tried the special firmware from the American site yet?

If you have and it didn't work try renaming the ROM file like you did before.

  • AMIT SHARMA Jul 15, 2010

Yes i tried that same thing happened some junk characters where displayed in the S/W version and it failed to update.

    Hi Amit,

This has me flabbergasted!! I don't understand why this is not working. The hack should work on on player because of the software version.

I can only think of one thing to try now.

Click on the link and download the 6000.zip file extract the files and place the kpjc19_1.dvd file on your empty flash drive and place it in the player. See if the Region Management System screen is
displayed, set the Region Code to “0” using your remote. Once done,
press “PAUSE” on you remote to save it.

    http://www.multi-region.net/_media/6000....

If it doesn't burn a CD off using Write mode: ISO Level 1, Mode 1, ISO
    9660 to finalize it.

You can get the CDburnerXP software from this link>>>>

    http://cdburnerxp.se/download.php

If this still does not work then its a possibility that your software version won't allow a region change or downgrade.

The hack for this 3D Blu Ray player is the same as for previous models.

1. Make sure NO disc or usb stick is inserted into the player.
2. Turn on your your blu ray player.
3. When the main menu appears, press the REPEAT button followed by the region code your player is currently locked to - depending on which country
you are in (eg: in Australia press "REPEAT 7 6 8 8 4".
4. In the top right corner you will see your region code flash (eg: 4 for Australia).
5. Press 9.
6. Turn off and on and your BD-E6500 is now region free.

How this differs from the opening post is no need to open and close the disc tray.

So, after pressing REPEAT please enter one of the following codes the matches your current region lock:

1 - 2 9 3 3 4 (US)
2 - 5 7 5 3 8 (Europe)
3 - 5 6 7 3 2 (South East Asia)
4 - 7 6 8 8 4 (Australia / South America)
5 - 5 3 8 1 4 (India, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Africa)
6 - 2 4 4 6 2 (China)

9 - Region Free

Then press '9' and your player is region free.

Region codes required for DVD's from England.

Hi its better to make your DVD region free, please follow these steps:The internet has made it easier to purchase obscure foreign movies on DVD that aren't sold in this country. DVD's have region codes so they will only play on certain DVD players. For instance, US DVD's are region 1 while Europe and Japan are region 2. The only way you can play a foreign DVD then is to purchase a region free DVD player or make your DVD player region free.

  • Get a DVD player. If you purchases a DVD player, make sure you purchase a DVD player that people have had success in converting to region free. If you already own a player, you will need to note down the make and model of your player.Step 2
  • Look up the DVD hack for your player. There are several sites that feature DVD hacks. Two popular sites are DVD Exploder and Video Help. Simply look up the make and model of your DVD player and check to see if there is a hack.
