Is there only 1 oil used for both engine and gear box on Suzuki DR 125 1987

You can do it that way but most gear boxes use a DTL or UGL and it is a straight weight oil.

I just bought a 1998 yamaha blaster atv. How much and what kind of oil goes in the gearbox? (the guy i got it from said use plain old 10w-30 oil) Does it use heavy weight gear oil? Transmission fluid?...

Use heavy duty SAE 80W-90 gear oil

Engine oil does work but the oil will not last as long nor will it protect the bearing's/gear's as well as gear oil. Thick dif oil can work to.
Also the gear box is should be sealed.

Is the gear box on an old Woods Bush Hog packed in grease or a heavy weight gear oil and what type is best. How do you prevent leaking

90 weight only. Fill through top until level with side opening. If it is leaking, it has likely blown it's seals. If leak is slow, just keep checking and filling it. If it's just flowing out, it's best to replace the box. No too fun. I've had to do it twice in about 15 years. Hope this helps a little:)

Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell.

I have a 1998 sonata v6 5 speed gear box. In the morning when I first start off the gears seem dry/ and don't flow easily. Once the vehicle is warm all seems well. My son-in-law changed the gearbox oil as...

Try some Lucas transmission medic. Also make sure that you have the correct weight oil. The warm tells me that as the oil lube thins down it circulates fine. Adjust to a lighter weight oil.
