Question about Apple iTunes

Problem Installing itunes 9.2!!

Every time I download the new 9.2 version of iTunes a message pops up right at the beginning of the install process , It reads: There is a problem with this windows installer package, A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Do you have any idea what the package might be? I cant sync my new Iphone 4 as long as i dont have the 9.2 version of iTunes. Thanks

Re install the i tunes 9.2 during installations use the CUSTOMS settings on installing on it. then try to download again

Well As the newer version of itunes require high resources. Which version of Itunes are you using right now and what is your system configuration. If you have low RAM and Graphics then try installing the old versions of itunes and ue it, the problem will no longer be there.Click here to see a list of versions of itunes and try installing an old one.When you open this page you will find a list of versions at the right hand side below the Download. When I try installing Itunes half way through installing a pop up comes up saying- "Could not access network location %APPDATA%\." Can u help me fix this.


Please take note that the following steps is in assumption that you are using a Windows operating system.) As I have found out in the iTunes support in apple.com, this symptom may be caused by anti-spyware software preventing iTunes from installing correctly. One such application is SpyCatcher. Before installing iTunes, temporarily remove this software to allow the iTunes installer to complete.

If you are still having trouble installing iTunes for Windows, follow the troubleshooting suggestions described in this article.

General installation troubleshooting Important: iTunes installation is successful a majority of the time after completing these troubleshooting procedures. If one step does not resolve your issue proceed to the next.
1. Empty your Temp directory and restart
Windows XP:
  1. Choose Start > My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
  2. In My Computer or Computer, open the "C:" drive.
  3. Open Documents and Settings.
  4. Double-click the folder titled with your username.
  5. If you see a Local Settings folder, skip to step 10. If you don't see a Local Settings folder, proceed to the next step.
  6. Choose Tools > Folder Options.
  7. Click the View tab.
  8. Select the option to "Show hidden files and folders."
  9. Click OK.
  10. Double-click Local Settings.
  11. Right-click on the Temp folder and choose Delete.
  12. In the confirmation dialog that appears click Yes.
  13. If you are unable to delete the Temp folder, close all programs, especially those in the Notification area ("System Tray") of the Windows Task bar and repeat step 11.
  14. Restart your computer.
Windows Vista and Windows 7:
  1. Choose Start > Computer
  2. In Computer, open the "C:" drive.
  3. Open the Users folder.
  4. Double-click the folder titled with your username.
  5. If you see an AppData folder, skip to step 10. If you don't see an AppData folder, proceed to the next step.
  6. Choose Organize > Folder and Search Options.
  7. Click the View tab.
  8. Select the option to "Show hidden files and folders." (In Windows 7 this option will be called "Show hidden files, folders, and drives").
  9. Click OK.
  10. Double-click the AppData folder to open it. If Windows needs your permission to continue click Continue.
  11. Double-click the Local folder to open it.
  12. Right-click on the Temp folder and choose Delete.
  13. In the confirmation dialog that appears click Yes.
  14. If you are unable to delete the Temp folder, close all programs, especially those in the Notification area ("System Tray") of the Windows Task bar and repeat step 12.
  15. Restart your computer.
2. Completely remove iTunes and QuickTime
For Windows XP, follow instructions in Remove and Reinstall iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP.
For Windows Vista or Windows 7, follow instructions in Remove and Reinstall iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista.
Note: Songs you purchased from the iTunes Store or imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes.
3. Install the latest version of iTunes
Once you have completed the above steps to Empty your Temp directory, Completely remove iTunes and QuickTime, and Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer, you can install the latest version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download.
Additional troubleshooting Make sure you have administrator-account access To install iTunes or QuickTime software, you need to be logged in as an administrator on the computer. If you're not sure if you have administrator-account access, contact the owner of the computer or your system administrator.
Get the latest Windows updates The first thing to do when troubleshooting an installation issue on a Windows computer is make sure you have the latest Microsoft Windows updates installed—to get the latest updates, go to the Microsoft Windows Update page.
iTunes and QuickTime software for Windows require Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista with latest Service Pack installed.
Disable other conflicting software In Windows, some background processes can cause issues for other programs and processes. These conflicts can prevent applications such as iTunes and QuickTime Player from installing. See Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows XP or Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows Vista and Windows 7 for assistance disabling conflicting processes.
Additionally, some third-party security software cannot be disabled using Selective Startup (MSConfig). For assistance in configuring or disabling your security software, please contact the manufacturer.
Make sure your folder names don't contain strange characters If the iTunes installer (iTunesSetup) is not responding or appears frozen after launching the installer then the folder where the installer is stored may contain unusual characters. If you notice that the iTunes installer or stored in a folder like this, either rename the folder or move the iTunes installer to another location such as the Desktop before launching.

Cannot get into itunes via ipod touch just says invalid argument


What I would do is try downloading the latest version of iTunes and see if that works. If that does not try the following: 1. Start by syncing your iPod with your computer. Go here to download Itunes. That is what you are going to need. Then you can fix your ipod(http://apple.com/itunes/download).

New Ipod touch stuck in recovery loop... Received an error message while updating software for the touch. Now I can't get it out of recovery..


Try restoring again and when you get the error,press ctrl+alt+delete and end itunes task.then try the restore again...this time it will definitely restore completely!

After updating Itunes to 8 itunes wont' open


go to task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and go to the processes tab. then find, itunes.exe on the far left hand column. then below it should be iTunesHelp.exe click both of those and choose End Process on the bottom bar. Hope this helps. :-)

How to restore iPod shuffle
  1. Ensure that you have an active Internet connection as new versions of iTunes and iPod Software may need to be downloaded to your computer.
  2. Download and install the latest version of iTunes if you do not already have it installed.
  3. Open iTunes, and then connect iPod shuffle to your computer.
  4. After a few moments, it will appear in the Source pane in iTunes.
  5. Select your iPod shuffle in the Source pane and you will see information about it appear in the Settings tab of the main iTunes windows
  6. The Version section tells you whether iPod shuffle is up to date or needs a newer version of the software.
  7. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
    • Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
    • Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
    • Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
    • Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
  8. If you are using a Mac, a message will appear prompting you to enter an administrator’s name and password.
  9. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will present a message instructing you to leave iPod shuffle connected to computer to complete restore process.
  10. During the stage 2 of the restore process, a green LED will flash once on iPod shuffle, then amber and green LEDs will flash briefly, and finally the amber LED will begin to flash continuously. It is critical that the iPod shuffle remains connected to the computer during this stage.
  11. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete, the iPod Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.
