Check if the CAPS LOCK is on. The key to toggle this is right above the left Shift key (next to A). There is usually a light with the indicator near the top of the keyboard (other lights for Num Lock and Scroll Lock).

You can tell if it is a Caps issue if the pressing the numbers above QWERTY give the numbers not !@ etc.

I hope this helps.

(you should turn off the computer and clean both keyboards. Sometimes, some dirt gets into the keyboard and triggers stray signals. There are a number of cleaning products that work; just make sure the keyboard is dry before turning the computer back on.)

My keyboard acts crazy: it does not type all letters, numbers, enter key and maybe some more. it DOES do keys like alt. ctrl. shift, start. same problem with 3 different keyboards: 2 USB ones and one...

Welcome to Fixya. To be able to know if this is a problem with the operating system or with the hardware of the computer. We need to check if this is happen inside and outside windows. Open command prompt when you are inside windows and observe if the keyboard will type on command prompt window or it will act as the same as when your typing inside the windows operating system. If this problem only occurs within Windows it means that this is a problem with the operating system. However if this also happen on command promt it only means that this is a hardware issue or a motherboard issue. Please let me know if you have questions on the procedure and on what happen.

Inserted the usb in computer but key board isn't doing anything just bought 2 days ago and used once, what could the problem be?

There are a few things that could be causing miscommunication between your wireless keyboard and your computer.
First and foremost, try restarting your computer. Sometimes it's a simply quirky problem that is addressed with powering off and on the computer.
keyboard could be out of range - move closer to the USB receiver, resync the keyboard (there is usually a button on the keyboard for this), and try again batteries could be dead or inserted backwards - double check the batteries or replace with fresh ones USB port could be acting up - plug the USB receiver into another USB port you may need to update or re-install the driver for your keyboard model - search for the model on your manufacturer's webpage (in this case, logitech) and they usually offer the latest driver downloads.

Keyboard not functioning at all

The problem may be two things:

1) Its cord is disconnected from the PC unit
2) Your Keyboard drivers are outdated.

If the cord is fine, I recommend that you go to the hardware wizard (Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Hardware Wizard) and run a "detect new hardware." This feature should be able to get your keyboard going again - and you should be able to access this feature by using your mouse only.

Laptop acting like shift key continuously held down. system is brand new out of the box.

Try ataching another keyboard using a USB port. If you can get the other keyboard to work right you need to get the keyboard replaced.

MI Keyboard

might be a bad keyboard, the makers mistakers, I had one that didnt work at the slightest touch, millions out there and 1000s can go bad even mouses. Try the keyboard driver and make sure windows sees it as a keyboard not something else,if you cant get a response try a little dab of alcohol on the tip of the usb and wait till dry also clean out any surface, If all things fail time to buy again! :)
