You did not say which brand and model number you have, and they are different. Belts go around the brush roll and the motor shaft on most models.

Belt

Look underneath where the brush roller is located. The brush roller is removed to replace the belt. The new belt is installed on the motor shaft and the brush roller then the brush roller is reinstalled

How to replace the belt on bissell healthy home vacumn

I think this is a terrible answer.. but after researching everywhere on how to change the belt, most answers were to look up the owners manual. So I looked it up online. this is all it has on changing the belt:
"Belt maintenance
The brush belt is designed to last the useful life of the cleaner when used according to all
instructions in the user guide under normal household conditions. If you feel that it needs to
be checked or replaced, call BISSELL Consumer Services or visit the website to locate an authorized service center. Do not attempt to disassemble the vacuum foot to change the belt."

Frustrating! Good luck!

The bristles will not spin.

See if the belt (that drives the bristles) if is loose or need replacement. The belts are located either on the left or right side of the bristle brush(you can locate it by putting the vacuum upright and see under the brushes). If it is loose or broken replace it(walmart has replacements for it or any hardware store)just bring the belt for the replacement number written on the belt,or know the brand and model number.

i have the same prob. this is what i found

Since changing the belt is the easiest fix, we suggest you check that first. (Before attempting any repair be sure your machine is unplugged from the electrical outlet). Most Proheat models have two belts; a cogged belt that turns the brush roll, and a flat belt that turns the pump. If the pump belt is stretched or broken it needs to be replaced. The pump and belts are located in the front of the machine on the operator’s left. Turn the machine over and you’ll see a red retainer with 2 screws. Remove the retainer to gain access to the pump and belts. While you’re there check the red pump pulley, it’s where the two belts are. If that pulley is broken or loose you’ll have to replace the whole pump, the pulley is not available separate.

on your housing you will see a plastic cover adout 4 inches long remove this piece and you should see where your pump belt goes. flip your steamer over and remove the little red retainer that sits by the belt you have located. at this point you can take your brushroll out and slip the pump belt over the pump and onto your motor. then reassemble.

why do you need to change the belt? what is wrong with your brain? i mean, vacuum. head cavity. is the green light not on? did you break the belt? do you need to change the belt?

i'm not the internet psychic. i don't know what's going on inside your vacuum. you need to say these things. your question is like me saying "how to wipe my *******"

i'm not even going to answer your question...see the other posting i made, if they don't delete it for obscenity first.

Changing my Belt

There should be 2 or 3 screw on the top housing, if not there, then they are on the bottom. Remove those screws, then the top housing comes off and the belt and brushroll are in the open.Part # 61120A long life belt. Brush roll #62365-2 if needed.
