Re: Sony CCD-V701have a blinking arrow and camera does...
THIS MAY SOUND A LITTLE STRANGE,BUT FIRST, HIT YOUR RESET BUTTON, THEN SET THE CORRECT DATE AND TIME. THEN POWER ON AND OFFA FEW TIMES. IT WORKED FOR ME.GOOD LUCK.
OPEN YOUR VIEW FINDER DOOR, AND THERE SHOULD BE A SMALL PINSIZE HOLE TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF YOUR MENU BUTTONS. ALSO, USE SOMEHING AS SMALL AS A SAFETY PIN TO PUT IN THE RESET HOLE. I HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU.OPEN YOUR VIEW FINDER DOOR, AND THERE SHOULD BE A SMALL PINSIZE HOLE TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF YOUR MENU BUTTONS. Assume you have Sony DCR-HC20 camcorder and it does not show you live view to record, I hope camcorder is playing back old recorded tapes perfectly with good quality picture on its LCD. If it is true then your camcorder has ccd imager chip failure and ccd imager needs to be replace to get live view in LCD monitor. Qualified camera tech will replace ccd imager chip. Thanks.

Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
