Question about GE GSS20IEP Side by Side Refrigerator
There is water pouring out of the ice machine, it stops when we turn the water off.
You have a bad water valve. This is the part that the water line is hooked to on the back of your refrigerator. Replace the water valve.

The filter should be before the fridge and should not affect it it sounds like the water valve from the fridge is defective .Other possibility is the icemaker head is defective and needs changing.

your freezer cabinet need to get all out also the ice machine, and open the back wall
there is a drain hole in the bottom middle of it make sure it is clean, and if you pure water they go all the way
through the pip to the drain pan next to the compressor.

WAS IT LEAKING FROM INSIDE THE FREEZER OR FROM BOTTOM OF FRIDGE? ONCE IN A WHILE YOU NEED TO TAKE OUT THE ICE BIN AND DUMP ICE OUT AND CLEAN IT. HOW CAN THE ICE MACHINE OVERFLOW WITH ICE WHEN THE ICE IN THE TRAY WON'T BUDGE? NEED CLARIFICATION. SOUNDS LIKE YOU EITHER HAVE A BAD ICE MAKER MODULE OR THE SOLENOID FOR THE ICE ON THE WATER VALVE IS BAD.
