Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If you have already tried to reset it by pressing start/reset button and then pressing these buttons in sequence: quick rinse-air dry-quick rinse-air dry, then it seems that the control panel has gone bad and should be replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Well, I don't even have those options on my dishwasher. Want to try again?

I don't have the options of quick rinse-air dry and so on. Are you sure you are researching the right dishwasher? It seems pretty easy to say the control panel is bad-I'm just sayin.

Try and reset the dishwasher by entering the service mode. To enter service mode press Cookware(pots and pans on some models) and the heated dry button keypad simultaneously for 3-5 seconds. Now press the 1R button(on the right side of Start Button). After "888" is displayed on the screen or after 1 minute press Start/Reset Keypad to exit the service mode. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

    Thanks

The controls are dead. The only indicator that is lit is the minute pad. The washer will wash but the dishes aren't clean

Please check the pressure pump and the spraying pressure as this can be clogged or faulty. Remove clean and reset

How do I reset my GE GSD5630 Dishwasher?

To do a hard reset on this washer you need to unplug the unit from the wall outlet behind the unit or simply turn off the circuit breaker. Leave it off for approximately 3 to 5 minutes and the memory will reset.

I had to do this to my GE Triton dish washer a few times when for some unknown reason it would not start a new wash cycle no matter what buttons I pushed.

Our GE Profile (Quiet Power 6) dishwasher is having trouble cleaning our dishes. The top shelf rarely gets cleaned and the bottom is questionable. It used to work fine. We always use Cascade powder...

The obstruction can be external to the unit. Check the drain at EACH connection working backward from the sink connection all the way to the motor pump outlet hole. Do not forget to dis-assemble the Air-Gap (if installed) and to check the inside of the garbage disposal hole also.

If all of these areas are free of obstructions then there is a good possibility that the pump impeller is either very worn / broken blade or there may be damage in the pump housing itself.

I think that if you look at the external drain lines, holes, and connections you notice a big change in the dishwashers performance.
Noting that you have hard water.... I really don't like promoting products.. but when one works and works well I will pass that information along.
There is a product out there made by FINISH called Jet-Dry and it comes in a mini basket form:

http://www.viewpoints.com/images/review/2009/134/13/1242326145-55717_full.jpg

or an additive if you have a rinse dispenser:

Lastly.... if you need to clean up the dishwasher.. on an empty no dishes cycle add 2 cups of white vinegar when you know the cycle has just started filling NOT draining and let it wash. Then do your dishes after that cycle.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Dish washer 3 1/2 yrs old making a growling/vibrating sound.

The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

GE Triton arms don't spin

Peace,
Cut off the power at the breaker for 5 minutes and then turn it on and see if the system resets!
How old is the machine?

Other wise you need hands on service! And a new machine will pay for itself in only a few years!

Bless You!
