Question about Hitachi 50UX58B 50" Rear Projection Television
Those light are service LEDs (D940-D946). They indicate voltages from PSU. If they go off it is usually a faulty PSU not giving out power. If they turn red, then there is incorrect voltage.
Test the power board. This is one of most common failures.
PSU is tested reading voltages. If the TV is on forced standby (protect mode) only the low voltage will be on.
Before testing check the state of PSU capacitors (replace C707 1000 pfd cap and check the caps nearby). Often it is possible to spot at a glance bulged or leaky capacitors. Check also the protector e994 , if it is open, then replace it.
