I`ve met with this problem before in another version of Sonar.
I think you must have been playing around with your audio settings. If you go into the audio settings, one of the tabs on top will open up the drivers selected window. Make sure you have your soundcard driver whether Asio, MME or WDM selected in the palyback and recording timing. Myself I use Asio4all drivers which are freely available on the net.
Initially when I chose asio I could use midi but no audio so I was using MME, but that has too much latency. Eventually I used WDM, but nowadays I use the Asio4 all drivers.
Please remember to exit Sonar and restart after any changes. You might need to do the same again for eith the record or playback timing masters as I don`t think you can change them at the same time. In any case, once you change one and restart the program, youcan then select the corresponding one and restart again. After that you shoudl be fine.
Good luck!

Your CPU uasge has Maxes to the maximium ie 100% from the task manager performance tab, when you are recording a video through the TV Tuner card.

There is nothing to do to further improve your PC performance except you can get a better configuration on graphic PC.

Can't record vocals

You can use any mic you want but you have to go to the soundcard mixer and enable the source for recording from the recording properties. If you have a separate soundcard not the onboard one usually it will have it`s own mixer software so you open that up and set it to record from the microphone input if that`s where your mic is inserted. If you use the onboard sound card then go to control panel - sound and select the device you want and also set the recording source. In sonar you have to right click on the track in the left part of the screen. This brings up the properties for that track. The you select the sound card input and output for that audio track.
That shoudl solve your problem.
Of course you will get a much better result if you use a good mic plugged into a mixer or pre amp and send the source into the line in of your sound card and adjust the rest accordingly.

Timing after recording. and midi composing

May I suggest you try to adjust your audio settings inside Sonar. Also it is a good idea to always keep your C drive well defragmented. I once had this problem using Sonar LE and the only way I got rid of it was after formatting my C drive and reinstalling the drivers and Sonar again. After that the problem came back and then I upgraded from the SB Live to Audigy SE.
Make sure you also have lots of free space on your C drive and have a decnt amount of ram.

If you are recording from bar 1 at time 1.00 you might want to start recording one or two bars later. So try starting your song on bar three istead of bar 1

Me and some buddies record with sonar home studio 6 and i bought a new pc custom built for recording well our computers on tha same day and time started having problems with sonar popping and glitching...

Sounds like what is called a latency problem. You need to go into the settings in Sonar and under audio, adjust the Latency to a higher number...I don't know sonar home studio, or I would tell you the exact area to go in the menu's to adjust latency..Hope this helps!

When recording live feed from various guitars I can't get the recordings to synchrinize

Sounds like you have a latency problem. This can be for a variety of reasons, something Cakewalk admits. The reason for that could be everything from processor limitations, not enough RAM, your soundcard, or simply that you need to change the latency configuration in the audio settings menu of the program. Considering that that is the cheapest fix, try changing settings first. Be sure to follor the help information in Cakewalk - they can be a little confusing for Cakewalk (I have no idea why they can't seem to explain their programs after all these years) but you will be able to figure out what settings are right for you.

My guess is that when you record, you are listening to the previously recorded track, and playing to it. Then when you play it all back as a mix, they are not in sync as when you were recording them.

If that is not the problem, plesae explain further. You are able to monitor your previously recorded tracks, right? Not just playing each track "blind" and trying to have them match? Hope not. That is rarely possible - if at all.

If you are monitoring your prerecorded tracks while recording on top of them and it sounds different when you play it back, it's definitely latency.

Sonar 6 Producer - palyback quality issue

I had this problem today whilst installing Sonar on my new laptop. It wasn't the click track. It was the playback glitching, clicking and rattling. I put the buffer size to maximium but it was still happening.

I got round it by downloading the latest version of ASIO4all (2.9 beta4) and installing it. I then opened Sonar 6, options, audio, advanced, then selecting ASIO in the driver mode drop down box. Then I closed Sonar and reopened it.

If you use one device for recording and playback it should work now but if like me you use seperate devices or if it doesn't work click, options, audio, general, ASIO panel, advanced options. Here you can select your inputs and outputs. Play around a bit here. Mine worked when the output of the playback device was selected and both the input and output of the recording device was selected.

ASIO4all sorted out my latency issues as well.

Hope it helped.
