How do i connect my gateway zx6970 to tv

Hi
I don't know how helpful I can be but I will try.
Firstly. Are you selecting the correct HDMI input on the TV. I have four on mine, and need to select the correct one for what I want to view.
Secondly, have you got the HDMI outlet selected on the computer, via your graphics card controller, as I suspect that HDMI will not be the default outlet. I would expect automatic detection when connected, but that option may be disabled in the controller.
Cheers

Hdmi input not working

Try right-clicking on your desktop while tv is plugged in and select screen resolution, that should open the properties window that will allow you to activate or change resolutions for the tv or detect it. Make sure that the tv is enabled and if necessary choose to extend your desktop to it.

Hook gateway intel n450 to flat screen television

You'll need a cable that will connect from the computer to the tv. The easiest way is if you get a cable that will have the same type of connection for both the tv and the laptop. Otherwise you will need to have an adapter that will go between the two.

Once you have them connected by a cable then turn the tv on and select the input (source) which in most cases will be PC or Computer or HDMI etc. Boot the laptop and the image should appear on the tv. If not you will have to Press and Hold the FN function key near the bottom left on the keyboard then hit the F1 thru F12 key that toggles the display. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have LCD/CRT on it or it will have the icon of a display.

I wanted to know if there is a way to hook my Samsung N150 Verizon netbook or notebook to my tv to watch a movie from the laptop

If the netbook has an HDMI port, you can connect it to most flat screen tv's with an HDMI cable. If there is no HDMI port, then you cannot connect it to a tv.

Hope this helps!

TV wont detect HDMI Devices except a pc.

Something is wrong whith the HDMI jack it's self, or the electronic switching is not sensing a signal is present. In either case the board that has the HDMI jack you are using needs to be replaced. Most all these boards are double printed, Multi-layered or both which prevents replacing the jack it's self. I do have a question though, do you only have on HDMI jack on the unit or do you have another one available.

TV won't recognize signal from a DVI to HDMI input adapter

I had a similar problem with a Mac Mini.  The problem was caused by a mix-matched resolution (the Mac tries to use 75Hz refresh rate, TV expects 60Hz).  The best solution I found was to remote into the Mac (I used LogMeIn.com) and change the resolution on the Mac from a remote computer until the image appears on screen.
Process: 1) Connect Mac to a normal monitor and install the LogMeIn server (or other VNC type application) 2) Connect the Mac to the TV 3) Connect to LogMeIn from another computer (preferrably one where you can see the TV) 4) Go to Applications / System Preferences / Display 5) Change the resolution to your TVs native resolution, and change the refresh rate to 60Hz

Trying to hook compaq presario laptop to philips lcd digital tv

hey fox,
sounds to me like a connection problem. If the compaqs output is vga, you need to convert the input (tv side ) to hdmi, component, s-vidio... what ever you can find. Typically when you hook up your computer to a flat screen or such, its best to try to use the hdmi ports or the rpg. But if thats not available you need to take the outout from your laptop ( whatever type that might be and input it into your flat screen tv. If you input laptop into tv under ( eg..HDMI) then when you VIEW it you need to select the correct source on your flat screen. Such as hdmi or pcmi or rpg.I know that the do sell alot of cables that adapt from one type of connection to another. Typically only one cable is required from the laptop to the flat screen. If you think about it you are only using the flat screen as a monitor.

Connecting my pc to my tv

verify the settings for your monitor are correct. with a video card that supports an HDMI output you should be able to go into your display properties (maybe advanced properties) and either force the TV detection or force the HDMI output to be enabled so it's displaying on your PC and your TV simultaniously. I know with N Vidia GeForce video cards you can do this and with most major brands it should work similarly.
