How can i find out my encription code for my asus eeepc

The encryption code is in your router's wireless setup.
To connect your computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh network list, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is configured in the Wireless settings in the Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrase or WPA or WPA2 key that was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router. http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_address For information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in the laptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

you must configure wi-fi setings, consult owners manual if you dont have any i can send you photocopy. These machines can auto-detect to a certain extent and static configuration seems to be relative to a cable connection otherwise dchp settings are optional as the machine auto-configures

No wireless connection

I am assuming you're referring to the Asus Eee PC 701SD... if so, try the following:1. Check the hotspot to see what kind of IP address it is using [are they manually configured, or is there a DHCP server that assigns IP addresses] 2. Check your 701 and make sure its network connectivity conforms with the settings on the hotspot

Won't connect to wireless internet

Try re-installing the hardware. Your drivers may be currupt. It could also be that the wireless card is not detecting a strong enough signal to connect, try searching for other connections. If the problem presists. It may be a hardware malfunction. In that case you'll need to replace the wireless adaptor. If you still cannot connect, contact your local PC repair shop.

Unable to connect EEEPC 701 to BT HOME HUB 2

sometimes the best thing to do is start over.

reset any hubs, routers, switchers, etc.
then (just fro now) remove any firewalls,
or software that may get in the way.
You want to start with a bare minimum configuration and build from there.

eeepc works well with windows networks, the ethernet connection should just work, without additional software.

does eepc connect to other networks?
can other laptops connect to your network?
check all settings: ip address, dhcp or static, passwords, etc.

Try a "wired" ethernet connection, then try the wireless connection. if all else fails, use F9 (or DVD disk to reset/reload the system. i.e. start over.

Wireless connection pending

I have seen this problem with many of my clients. Here is a way to correct your WLAN connection problem:

1: Choose "Network" in the Internet option, disconnect it and then delete the Connection in the "Manage".

2: Click "Create" to recreate the connection, choose "Local Area Network- Wireless", then Next.

3: Choose "Next".

4: Select Address Type, and then Next.

5: Browse Wireless Networks and then choose the one you want to use, you should see your wireless router/modem and the signal should show "Excellent" or "Very Strong". Choose the mode to be "infrastructure" and the Transfer rate to be "auto", and then Next.

6: Wireless Channel Settings, choose any channel.

7: If your AP is using the WEP or WPA encryption, you need to choose "Enable encryption" and then input the Key and Key index, (If you want your connection secured, you should use WPA and select a key index.) choose Next.

8: Fill in the Name of connection, then choose Next.

9: You can choose the "Connect automatically at system startup" or "Start this connection when finished" if you want, and then choose Finish.

This should correct your connection issues. Good Luck.

Wireless connection

Some ideas...

I found that sometimes I have to "disable" the wireless service, and then "re-enable" wireless before it will show available wireless connections.

After that, just use your normal connection settings - passwords, security type, etc.

As well, at times, if I use the "Wireless Connections" Icon in the "Internet" page to log in, I have to re-type the password in. If I use the "Network Connections" icon in the toolbar at bottom, it seems to remember my password and logs in faster.

Linux quirks? I dunno. Hope this helps.

Internet not connecting

What type computer? Wireless network ? FROM the language you are using [" picks up connection"] It is wireless. You may be picking up "outside" signals. When they are weak, you may get something!,then u loose it. Thats why "pending & nothing happens"
