You can directly connect your iPhone to PC and drag these photos through "Copy and Paste".
Another convenient way is using Free iTunes Backup Free iTunes Backup Extractor , which can extract text messages, contacts, call history, photos, videos, notes, WhatsApp, and more from iTunes backup files.

My photos on my phone will not transfer to my computer

What kind of phone do you use, Margaret?

If it's an android, then you can connect it to your PC with a USB cable. Your phone will be recognized as a camera on your computer. Open it and choose the pics you want, drag and drop to transfer them to your computer.

If you're an iPhone user, it won't be difficult to back up photos with the help of iTunes. Feel free to read this official guide.

Iphone wont transfer my video to pc

iTunes and the iPhone will not allow the the transfer from the iPhone back to your laptop only from the laptop to the iPhone.
There is third party software you can use that allow for this.
A few are free while others cost, and you can research them at the link below.
The free ones (especially Sharepod) should be sufficient, if all you need to do is transfer video to your PC. If you are running a Mac (Sharepod is for Windows) there are apps for that too. Sharepod needs to be run from your PC, but it really doesn't install on the hard drive, so if you are done with it, you just delete it, you do not need to do an Add/Remove to remove the applications.
You can get more info here, this is a very well known iPod forum.
