I'm sorry I was out of town. OK lets start with your problem again.
1.You can have notebook driver from the website of producer company.if you have hp notebook then you can have driver from www.hp.com. If you have acer notebook then you should go to www.acer.com. After the first page is loaded, your should look for a menu that says support,or download, etc. From there they'll ask you for your notebook model and the operating system you're using like (Windows XP,Vista,...)

2.Sometime driver do have problem, what you have to do best is
uninstall driver and reinstall it back again.

** If you're still not sure I recommend to find some friends who can uninstall and install back the driver.

you have to reinstall the wireless software/driver. Go into computers, properties, device manger, uninstall the wireless network driver and go on to left of screen and click on file and click on "Scan for hardware changes" and it should start working again.

good luck

Ubuntu 8.10 - acer aspire one 150-Ab wireles not working

Ahhh, Ubuntu. You may need to go online and find wireless drivers that will work with your wireless card.

On an unrelated note, OpenSolaris has an option on it to download all of the compatible drivers for your computer when you first hardwire it to an internet connection, so if you keep having trouble with ubuntu, you could always try switching over to that.

LAN CARD ADAPTOR IS MISSING AFTER FORMATING TO XP PRO

Not sure I understand you what you mean. Let me recap:
1) Your LAN adaptor was working before you reloaded Windows XP Pro.
2) Now it’s not showing up in “Device Manager”.
If this is the case, there must be some software driver missing. Make sure there are no other devices that have an error. Double check Dell’s website at www.support.dell.com and select "I'm looking for drivers and downloads". If you don't have the proper version of Adobe you will be prompted to install it. Once installed return to "drivers and downloads" and enter the "service tag", (serial number) of the laptop. Dell keeps a listing of drivers for every customer's computer they sell.

Acer wifi

Most Acers use an IPN2220 Wireless card. If yours does and your router is using WPA or WPA2 (TKIP or AES) security then you'll need to update the driver by searching for it manually using the Custom button (Hardware) in Windows update (instead of Express). This driver is not part of XP service pack 2 or 3. In my experience if you don't update to the newest common form of home wireless security (WPA2 AES) then the older formats seem to become unreliable in the way you describe
