Most tvs have a fuse or a resistor that acts like a fuse. To find it, you will need to open up the back of the TV and remove the shielding. Then look at the boards. A fuse will be obvious (short tube of glass with silver ends); the resistor may be gone and you might see the scorch marks and smell smoke instead.

I hope this helps.

Why wont my sharp lcd LC-32D44U turn on?

Well, there could a be few issues. First thing is to verify the breaker that gives power to that wall has not tripped off in the home's break power panel. If it is not tripped then verify the wall outlet that the TV is plugged into has a reset button, like a GFI (ground fault interrupt) If it does then verify that it has not tripped. If the GFI on the wall plug is tripped simply push the reset button back in and then try plugging in your TV power plug again. Then if that checks out or does not have a GFI outlet, verify that the power plug going into the back of the TV is not loose. Unplug and replug power plug that plugs into the back of the TV in and verify it is securely connected. Lastly, the power supply in the TV might have gone out.

The power on/off button does not work - it is out of place

Are you sure that it's the power button? Make sure it's plugged in and you have current going to that wall outlet. Then make sure the circuit braker for that part of the house has not switched off. If you have power to the wall outlet, then you'll have to open up the machine to gain access to the switch/button. If you don't think you can do that, then either a friend or a repairman will have to help you. It should not cost much to repair that problem, but check with the repairman 1st, to see ALL the charges that would apply.

The power just went off. tried unplug for 20 secs and plug again. tried the braker and plug. still nothing

Plug a lamp into the wall receptical, if it works! the main fuse in the microwave has blown. Unplug, and remove the top "several screws" check under the keypad and follow wires to the circuit board, look for a silver rectangular capacitor, take a screw driver and short the two points to remove any residual voltage. Now look for a small fuse "clipped" pop with screwdriver and replace with the same current rating, assemble unit because lethal voltages are present when powered on.

No power indicator brand new tv

Hello, welcome to fixya!

remove the TV from the wall, plug another electronic device to the wall to make sure there is electricity coming from the wall plug. It the wall plug has electricity, then it means the TV has a power fault. Since it is a new TV, I would suggest you return it and replace it with another. But if you want to repair the TV your self, please let me know so that i can direct you on the way forward.

Regards.

The TV (32" Dynex flat screen) will not turn on.

Hello, it does not power at all, means not eaven a power light blinks in the front of the TV, which also means there could be no power getting to the TV through the cheater cord, or a completely busted power supply due to shorted power regulators, lightning damage or surges in the power line. The easiest is to check the outlet, the power strip braker if you are using one, the power cord going to the TV. The rest of things would be inside the TV(power supply and power regs etc....)

No power on kenmore range

Make sure there's power getting to your range, oven or cook top. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in.

If everything above is ok, move on to the power cord junction point. make sure the power cord has not separated from the junction point on the backside of the unit.
