How do I solve a problem with starting up windows in my hp pavilion g6? Whenever I start windows a blue screen appears and the computer restarts.

Sounds like your hard drive has either failed, come disconnected, or someone performed a full format of the drive which wiped out the partitions or the boot sector of the drive. Worst case you will need to replace drive and purchase reinstall disk from hp. Best case you will only need to purchase reinstall disk from hp. If you do need a new drive, I recommend purchasing it from hp directly, as it will already be prepared with hps proprietary boot configuration files which must be present for hardware to be recognized by system bios.

'' a problem has been detected and windows has shutdown to prevent damage''

From the description it is the hard drive that is the problem, format the whole hardware and re-install your xp windows to see if that will clear up the problem, if not! have the hard drive tested to see if it must be replaced.

My hp laptop was shutting off while in use. When I turned it back on, it only showed a blue screen. Originally, it goes to the login page but it stops. How can I fix it?

The hard drive has issues or windows files have been corrupted, remove hardware and reseat it back in place, if no change! do a complete installation of the operational system with CD disc if available, if no change! have the hard drive checked out for possible replacement.

I have a problem that my pc is showing blue screen while iam starting to format

Blue screen error can only be one of two things 1 hard drive is is gone or one or more of your memory card are gone if you have more than one memory card take out one and test the machine then change it and test again if the screen is still blue get a card that cames from a machine that works if it still don't work.

try to format the hard drive in other machine if ypu cannot format replace the hard drive

When I turn the power on it starts up but just shuts down ten seconds later and keeps starting up and shutting down over and over again

This may be a hard drive issue, remove the hard drive and power up the computer it should show the HP logo and go to black screen with a blinking cursor, turn off and re-seat the hardware back in place and restart the laptop, any change? if the same, reload the recovery disc if available this will prove if it's a software issue or hard disc problem. If there is no improvement the hard drive should be pulled and tested at a computer shop before buying a replacement.

While using my laptop, the machine started making a sudden clicking noise so I closed the notebook. Then when I opened it again the blue lights indicated that it was on but nothing showed up on the screen....

Try booting the computer with the hard drive removed. You can remove the drive from the bottom of the laptop, you'll see a hard drive icon with two screws on a panel.

What happens when you boot with the drive out?

Blue light flashed on the portable hard drive for a couple seconds. How do I know if all files were transfered? Nothing on screen showed up? I have a HP laptop.

If your portable hard drive was set up as the "H" drive, go to My Computer (in Windows XP), or Computer (in VISTA), select your "H" drive and view your files (if there).

Pavilion ze4600 will not start

The blue screen that you see is what they call "the blue screen of death". The error that you have is Unmountable Boot Volume. This is caused by the operating system not being to load due to hard drive errors. This happens due to the computer being shutdown improperly or hard drive problem. I suggest that you contact the manufacturer of the computer so they can try and restore the computer without formatting or changing the hard drive.
