Question about Toshiba Tecra 9100 Notebook

1 Answer

I have a Toshiba Tecra 9100 and i have a huge problem with a blue screen error that occurs quite a lot something to do with bios setting. i have searched the internet and my laptop for these setting but they are no where to be found and no body knows where to find them. Also sometimes it tells me that my "ati2dvag display driver" has stopped working properly. Then i have to restart my laptop and most of the time it turns on but the screen does not work. Then i have to take out the battery and re enter it but sometimes this still doesnt work. i only got my laptop for christmas so i don't think these problams should happen in the first 6 months of useing it. Please can you tell me what is wrong with my laptop and give me some advice on what to do. This would help me a lot :)thank you for your time.

No hard disk found

From what you describe, your 40GB should be compatible with Tecra 9100.
I'd suggest you reset the BIOS settings to the factory defaults, just to ensure there are no wierd settings. Have you managed to use any other HDD with your Tecra 9100 previously?

Have You checked for a BIOS update for this model / vintage ?

Dead hard drive, replacement not working

The solution is that you simply cannot go out and buy a replacement HD. You have to buy TOSHIBA's replacement HD.

They make a 40, 80, 160 and 320 GB HD for Tecra MV2's etc.- Other HDs simply will not detect.

No sound

try to check the speakers or microphone lines and jacks whether they are connected properly . if still does not work, then check the audio settings under sound and devices in control panel.
If still makes no difference , then try reinstalling the audio drivers via the CD that was provided to you or u can find the drivers on http://www.toshiba.com or http://www.driverfiles.net/Notebooks/Toshiba/Tecra-9100/download/page,sh,31396,221,19,.html
