OK, try to revert to a prior restore point on the Presario 5000 PC Desktop. You may be surprised at how much faster it runs, also, if you recover to the original factory settings, and allow it to automatically update through the Internet.

Good luck, if you can do it, seeing that the system is probably locked up presently.

100% cpu usage

In Task Manager, go to the Processes tab and sort by the CPU column. See what is hogging up all your CPU. It may be a virus, if so, I recommend downloading Malware Bytes and doing a full scan. Warning, it could take several hours to scan depending on the size of your machine. Good luck!

What can I do about cpu reading 100%

Check what programs are taking up the most CPU resources, i.e. invoke the Windows Task Manager (use Ctrl + Shift + Escape or Ctrl + Alt + Delete, or simply right click on the Task Bar and select the option).

Look on the Processes page tab and click on the CPU column heading to order the usage by the maximum to minimum, then watch to see what is taking the most resources.

How to configure a MP080 motherboard using socket type 7 for a Intel 100 MHz 296-pin SPGA processor(hopeing for a video clip; some sort of visual aid on how to

Look at the CPU-socket on the motherboard.
There will be "holes" in only _some_ of the corners of the grid of holes.

It is a 'ZIF' ("zero insert force") socket, meaning that if you have to "push" the CPU to get it into the socket, you are doing SOMETHING WRONG.

Look for a lever on one side of the socket.
Gently pull the lever SLIGHTLY "away" from the socket, to "unlock" it, and then rotate the lever 90 degrees.

Look at your CPU -- there will be matching pins (and omitted pins) at each corner of the grid of pins.

Match the pins with the holes, and put the CPU into the socket. Use that "lever" to lower the CPU into the socket.

Most motherboards will "auto-detect" that you have a 100 Mhz FSB ("front side bus") on your CPU, and the CPU itself will clock itself, e.g., a CPU rated at 2000 Mhz will "multiply" the FSB bus by 20 (2000 == 100 * 20) to drive the CPU at its rated speed.

Missing motherboard interupt. CPU running 100%

Most likely you've got a virus or spyware hogging up CPU cycles. Get a good anti-virus/anti-spyware program like Norton/Symantec or Kaspersky and do a full system scan to eliminate viruses and spyware.
