My Vista Laptop immediatly shuts down after i pluck out the power cable.

Hey, I have a Vista Laptop, pretty new.

In laptops, normally you are able to charge it to 100% then disconnect the power cable and bring it off somewhere else.
However, I am unable to do this anymore.

once I disconnect the power cable, the laptop just shuts down.

No 'Shutting down, saving updates' screen

just 'poof, shut down'.

Any help will be appreciated :]

It sounds as if the power pin (where the AC cord connects to the computer) has been damaged. The part to fix it usually runs under $10 but the labor is gonna set you back $100-200.

Because the connector pin is so fragile, the damage to the pin is caused by the day to day tugging and pulling on the power cord.

What you needed when you got the computer is a cable stay or cable retention device like the Jerkstopper. It takes up the strain when you yank or **** the power cord and minimizes the damage to the power pin. It's a very common problem with laptops.

Here's a short video that talks about the problem. . . .

Where is the reset button on a aspire1 d2501326 laptop

Laptops do not normally have reset buttons. Press power button, depending on configuration, it will immediatly power down, hibernate or sleep. Hold it down for too long, more than 10 seconds will force it off and could damage your data if programs are running.

My Sony Laptop is stuck, not reboot nor shutdown,

Hey there, when your computer completely freezes while still being on you simply have to remove the power cable and pull out the battery. Then put the battery and/or power cable back in. When you start up your computer again it will say your computer wasn't shut down properly, simply select "start windows normally" and everything should be fine again.

Toshiba laptop reboots when on AC Power

I have the same problem with my Toshiba too, prima facie, it looks like Toshiba and Vista don't make a good combo. I suspected this to be a pure hardware problem, but was disproven when I booted in safe mode. It does not have any problems with the AC Power on in Safe mode.
