Most times this is a problem with bad capacitors. You may want to take off the back panel and examine the power board for any bad capacitors.
Thank you,

I Why won't my Phillips 42"plasma tv turn on?

Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

I have a Phillips flat panel tv that won't come on

The clicking sound is the switched mode power supply trying to power up the TV. This problem is usually caused by parts called capacitors on the power supply board going bad. You can repair the board yourself by replacing the capacitors. On this model there are 4 main capacitors that will need to be replaced. If you feel that you can do the repair yourself then get back with me and I will help you get the right parts, if not you can take the unit to a repair center near you and they can replace the power board. tech@ccl-la.com

Phillips 42PFP53320 42" Plasma TV. No picture,

Hello jporter...

welcome here in fixya..

That problem is one of the common problems of plasma TV (have sounds but no picture)..As a expert of flat panel for more than 5 years I already encounter that kind of problem many times..

Actually that problem is caused of either X,Y or Z sustain board or even both 3 boards are faulty..Because some models when the one of those boards have short circuit or bad there are possibility that other sustain board are affected..But most the problem like yours is "Y-SUSTAIN" board..

I can't find your model online please double check it it either Phillips 42PFP5332D/37 or 42PFP5532D/05

And for specific and easy way to find replacement please try to look at the part # of that board (it is usually printed on the sticker attach to the board itself..

Hope it helps and please don't forget to rate my answer..

Have a nice day!!!

regards,
Chester.

How do you find the power board for the Plasma TV Phillip Model Number 42PFP5332D/37

Carefully remove the back of the TV. If you have a grounding strap, wear it. If not, always keep one hand on the TV and use the other hand when ''rooting around'' back there to prevent shock damage. The power supply will be large, and very heavy. Here is a link to what it could look like - this link is a list of all possible power supplies in your model along with photos. http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=42PFP5332D+power

Once you find the power supply, locate a part number on a sticker or the board itself and match that up to one of the power supplies from the link. Leave the power supply inside the TV until you have the replacement in your hot little hands, so you can remember how it went in etc.
