Question about Lenovo Computers & Internet
I have a new Lenovo with Windows 7 and 2 things aren't working - System Restore and Java. I've followed directions found on Google for the Java problem, but the line item it suggested is not on my computer.
Double-click the icon to open Java Control Panel. In Java Control Panel, click the Advanced tab.
Click on + icon next to Default Java for browsers.
Make sure the box next to Internet Explorer, Netscape, or Mozilla is checked.
If it is not checked, click the checkbox to enable Java for your Web browser.
Also download java and install in computer.Click here for downlaod java.
You can download it from below link.
For system restore you need to press key stroke when you power up the computer like ALT+F2 or ALT+F1 then you can enter in recovery utility if it was installed in computer.
You can also restore computer in previous date if your windows ssytem files are good for that when you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in safe mode then you can recover it to previous date.
Start menu->All programs->Accessories->System tools->system restore.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Restoration feature works only when restoration files are stored on the PC. Usually any clean up programme or clean up disk features delete these files. If these files have been deleted then Restore feature doesn't work.... About the JAVA, java has two separate versions for 32 bit and 64 bit, make sure that you have installed version according to your system.... or the JAVA files from which the you have installed previously has been corrupted.. SO I will advised you to download the same again and install the fresh copy..... following link will help you to download the JAVA versions.... http://filehippo.com/search?q=java
Hope this has helped you.... Thanks....

System restore option restores the system to a previous point i.e. system restore point. For system restore to work there should be a valid system restore point present in operating system. Please check if there is valid system restore point, when you'lll select this you'll be able to see the creation date/time. Usually these system restore points are created automatically after significant change in system like installing a program/software. If you want to create a system restore point try installing a software/program and check whether system restore point is created.
Regarding Java installation, please check whether Java is installed on your system. Simplest way to check is go to control panel->program and features->check if Java is listed there. If it's not then you can download it from this link---
Java Download Link
However, if you're able to see Java listed under program and featurre option then I'll suggest you to uninstall it and reinstal it from the above link.
Hope this resolves the issue, else post back for further assistance.
