Unfortunately, if Maytag discontinued it, and you cannot find it online nationally, I am afraid that it will be a difficult if not impossible repair.

The following blog on the Internet covers this problem:

I have the switch but it wires up different than the old one

  • Stephen Lam Jul 14, 2010

To connect the new switch from the old one, follow these instructions:

    1. Attach the black wire(s) from the old switch (terminal 2) to the new switch terminal P1.

    2. Attach the jumper cable to P1 and "jump" it to S1.

    3. Attach the orange wire (old switch terminal 5) to S2.

    4. Attach the yellow wire (old switch terminal 4) to 4a.

    5. Attach the white wire (old switch terminal 3) to terminal 4 on the new switch.

    6. Attach the single red wire from the right front element to terminal 2 on the new switch.

    7. Attach the 'compound' red wires (the ones that come from the left rear/outlet connection and is also attached to the right rear switch) to terminal P2 on the new switch.

There is no need to separate the compound red wires

My Jenn AirCooktop Model CVE3401 burner problems

The part you need to replace is the switch. The switch is housed under the top and connects to the dial you are turning.
The switch for the dual burner is 12002125, and 74011242 for the single burner.

The single burner switch runs about $20.00 and the dual runs about $50.00 for the parts

Control for dual element has to be wiggled just so -so to shut element off, what do I need to fix it? Heats perfectly, shutting it off is my only problem.

The control you're wiggling (infinite switch)needs replacement. Model# and the position of the dual element (right or left, rear or front) is needed to get the part number.

I need instructions for wiring in replacing a dual burner switch on a CVE3400B cooktop. The replacement switch is different from the original. Do you have a diagram for the new switch that shows how to...

We followed the instructions that came with the switch that addressed a "compound wiring" configuration. We also used the black jumper wire as shown in the instructions.
We got to this solution in a trial by error manner though, because the three of us working the problem were convinced the stovetop was wired in a "piggyback configuration" and tried that road first. It would have been helpful if the instructions had included an explanation of the switch manufacturer's interpretation of "compound" and "piggyback" configuration.

JEC9530, dual element burner(right front) does not work the light does come on, the burner does not and the knob has play in it.

This coulb be either the switch or the burner. Either can be tested with an ohmmeter if you can read the wiring diagram. Hope this helps!

its been my experience that the dual burner switch is far more likely the culprit, unless you can physiclaly see the outer ring is broken( visual inspection works wonders. as far as trying to ohm out i generally look at theelemnet itself (4 wires lead to the elemnt you can trace 1 to the outer portion of element, and 1 to the inner portion.WITH POWER OFF Iswithc those 2 wires and the restore power try element ad watch for outer ring to work inner ring no good. now i know its the switch not sending power. reset wires and order new switch

Replacement dual burner Gaggenau CK594

You have 2 line, 2 load, and if there is an indicator light, 1 for that and 1 ground. The other guy may be right about the 2 grounds, if not, the indicator light may have a connection for hooking it to another light in series. The tech cannot understand the schematic? get someone who can.
